  1. But we'd only be interested in maintaining this roster if its good aka makes the playoffs, at which point who cares what it costs.
  2. I didn't think the Blue Jays were that old of a team. Yeah we have some old dudes but we also have plenty of young talent. Would have expected to be average.
  3. We have no depth, can't affird to give up any position players at or near MLB level like Pillar or Pompey. Seems silly to give up any asset to acquire a CEO, also since its a promotion I don't think the O's really have any ground to deny it.
  4. I am sure Vladdy Jr is already set for life via his father.
  5. I disagree with this thread, JP peaked as a Jay. Sad but true.
  6. Sure why not, we can use the depth.
  7. Agreed, would like to see one reliable righty brought in or atleast McGowan back.
  8. So what 2nd basement did the Jays get?
  9. I see it as the total opposite, they are taking a huge risk for little reward. What is the upside on this deal? They are paying him 14 mil a year for those 3 years, so even if he is great there isn't huge surplus value. Whereas he could very well turn into poo again or get injured and be worth nothing. The better play is to let him play out his deal and if he's awesome then great, you got 2 good years for cheap and still have a chance to resign him. If he walks then you still have the $14 mil to use on someone else.
  10. I'm not sure, think I'd just take the 2 @ 16 they had locked in already and roll the dice. Why expose yourself to a long-term deal with a pitcher if you don't have to.
  11. ouch that is bad, he needs to come to the AL to DH.
  12. meh these guys are a dime a dozen at 1B. Neither something to complain about nor get excited about.
  13. Can Takashi Toritani stick?
  14. You guys aren't deceiving anyone, you'd prefer your women to be women and that's about how picky any of you can be.
  15. Room to pickup another 2-3 wins from bullpen upgrades as well, pretty much only Cecil and Loop providing anything there right now. 2b is still a black hole.
  16. Not happening
  17. Excellent AAA signing.
  18. That bullpen is terrible, we are in dire need of some power righties.
  19. Markakis would be a great fit with this team, he would be a plus defender in LF I think.
  20. He is below average at 1 position, instead of poor but doable at 7 positions.
  21. Bogaerts and Goins are comparable in that they are both baseball players.
  22. This guy stunk last year.
  23. Agreed, then roll with Lester/Dickey/Stroman/MB/Hutch with Sanchez in the pen as the 8th inning guy who can move to rotation if needed. Trade Happ & Navarro for prospects. The team would be stacked except would still need someone at 2b.
  24. No way you give up Hutch right now, he could be the Jays best pitcher next year.
