  1. Janssen is probably the "star" player we can most afford to lose. But it would be nice to get him back at some point. We need all the quality arms we can muster in the pen because we never what we're getting from the starter consistently.
  2. Watch him go on to win the Cy Young next year in Oakland.
  3. Hindsight is always the best way to judge decisions.
  4. But you don't want him clogging up the base paths with anything but a dinger!
  5. Happ, just don't suck.
  6. Nothing exceptional, but he's a solid arm making league min. For a team on a tight budget (like the Jays are apparently) you need these type of players.
  7. this game begs the question... Can Brett Lawrie Stick?
  8. The way he's developed the last couple years he could be a setup man on some teams right now. On this team he is probably #6 on the depth chart and in that role he would be excellent. He'd be great for games where we are trailing in the 7th/8th by a run or two and don't want to burn up Delebar/Santos/Jansen.
  9. Edwin might be the better hitter once he's out of his funk (which he might be already) and will make em pay. I'll take nothing but Dingerz and Walks all day from Joey Bats at the clip he does it.
  10. Mike Trout made $510,000 last year. Hate the system not the Jays.
  11. Davis wanted a chance to play elsewhere. Here he was clearly the 4th OF. The Tigers outfield is a bit of a mess so he is much more likely to get solid playing time there. Would have been nice to keep but you can't spend $10 mil on your 4th OF (though would be much better use than the dead money we have committed to Romero and Happ).
  12. Rogers will be cut, he was pitching for his job lastnight and blew it. Why do people want to send Wagner down? He's a solid power arm.
  13. Are the Yankees the only team with worse roster management than the Jays? Their bench is in shambles. With the number of old and injury ridden players they have no way they should be going with a short bench.
  14. Clearly playing shallow was a mistake and lead to over running in the field which lead to the hamstring pull.
  15. Its cheaper then the cheapest cable package and its not full of 90% junk, only exactly what you want, baseball.
  16. What's a channel? I don't have cable, pure interweb. MLB tv for the win.
  17. Redmond has gone to the pen, kept his mouth shut, and pitched well. He deserves to be first in line if a starter goes down. If Happ goes to the pen and earns his way back in the rotation then great, until then shut up and if you suck in the pen don't dare say it was because you prepared to be a starter. He should be happy to be in the majors based on his performance so far.
  18. bah just as Izzy was becoming slightly better than useless.
  19. Damn... has a team ever hit 10 solo homers in a row to tie a game?
  20. Anyone else notice a phallic looking image behind the Orioles bullpen? What was that? Looked like a giant cheeto or something.
  21. This sounds like it should be a new stat, pitchers pulled after a hit. With how few hits Goins get he needs every offensive stat boost he can get.
  22. Whats with this productive out from a Catcher? I thought it was either dingerz or strike out??
  23. Clearly none of the 3 should be starting options, they are no more than subs and at this point its not even known if they are adequate for subs. All three defensively should be good at 2b its all about who is the least inadequate with the bat. Which is probably Kawasaki at this point. Atleast he is a vet who can take walks, bunt, and put the ball in play. It would be great if we signed Drew to a 1 yr 10 mil deal in June after the draft pick comp is off. It would only happen if we are still in the hunt of course but its looking like NYY is as predicted, old with spotty SP, Baltimore spotty SP, and Boston struggling to replace the run production they've lost to FA/Injuries. The Blue Jays have been as advertised as well with inconsistent starting pitching. It remains to be seen which team starts clicking and puts on a run and pulls away from the pack. That will likely be Tampa but who knows could be any of the 5. If it is the Jays they should investment the money in Drew come June. The wait and see approach doesn't really make sense considering the state the team is in and how desperate AA should be to win but whatever, it is what it is, likely easier to convince Rogers of the investment if interest is up.
  24. We should target Escobar, almost as good as Reyes/Jeter but much cheaper.
