  1. Can you look up what his projections were for 2009-2013, and give some analysis on those years as well, ie. projections vs actual results? I am not good with stat crunching.
  2. hah ya, you don't know how frustrating it is to go from following a team that was limited in payroll but developed some of the best players in the majors just to lose them year after year. To now a team that is so mismanaged that regardless of payroll they still can't make the playoffs in 20+ years. That's not fair to a fan like myself.
  3. Ok so the Jays are talking to Ramirez, Martin, Sandoval, they were talking to Vmart. They won't talk to any good cubans, those cost money and there's too much risk along with the potential for upside (something that jays are against). They rather pay for old and consistent for short term and take the risk of decline vs spending for high upside/unknown. The question is, when will the Jays actually do something relevant? Signing Martin is useless without an outfielder AND a 2b because they still won't make the playoffs.
  4. Look any player is tradeable as long as the Blue Jays are in the league. Ie. if he's 35 and not producing or in a heavy decline, if AA is still here, then we most likely will trade 1-2 A prospects for him + take on 90% salary for whoever it is.
  5. For 4 years yes, for 3 years, 0 chance.
  6. Won't your jaw drop when you see the Jays are the one who signed him
  7. The entire AL east is pretty tight. Every single team in the AL is on the verge of being a contender. The only thing the Jays don't have is the resources. They have an old core, and not as much money as the Yanks. Red sox want to rebuild quick and are going to add a front end starter. While the Jays are 'supposedly' close to contending, they are also fighting against several other close teams who will likely outspend and have a younger core who can progress. Buerhle/JB/Reyes, those guys are not getting younger or better at this point. Other teams are willing to spend big on IFAs, the Jays don't seem set on that route, and will likely miss the boat again (no pun intended for any of the cubans reading this).
  8. I think most people are willing to take that risk. He struck out way too much for someone with 0 power. I think DET knows what they got, a good defender, good glove, good speed, below average hitter. A poor man's endy chavez lol
  9. Good D + Fast + can't hit? I'd say only about half the ball players in the minors have that skill set.
  10. So you guys are saying AA did something good for once?
  11. I just saw he was under 30 years old, and won't cost prospects, not sure he fits in AA's plans then. We need him to be like 7 years older and signed on another team for AA to have interest, PASS.
  12. We need to target the most expensive players to acquire, or players in their mid 30s who other teams want to cash in because they know their production will drop. AA is the man with the plan.
  13. the thing with the sport of baseball is you can't win many games scoring 0 runs
  14. Like what happens when good international players get posted yet we sign no one?
  15. I'll bet you'll bite your tongue when they sign Martin, Sandoval and Lester..
  16. By a mile now too. Even pittsburgh/milwaukee/balt/kc have turn things around. The Jays are stuck in shittsville with AA being the mayor.
  17. Would you guys be happy if this team signed him for 15m/yr and he hit like he did in 2011, 2012, and 2013?
  18. Nah, Martin would be worth 2.43 BILLION a year, not 30 million.
  19. AA is going from having an overpaid average team, to having an overpaid crappy team. That in itself requires talent.
  20. Don't hold your breath on that one.
  21. Looks like the payroll slashing is full on. Garbage trade. Love the way AA has really molded this team into complete crap with no future. Looks like the Jays have 2 #5 pitchers now.
  22. This was the big offseason move AA was talking about ...If this doesn't pencil the Blue Jays in for a playoff spot next year, then I'm not sure what else will.
  23. There better have been girls in bikinis or something somewhere in that dream.
  24. Any lease is really breakable, there's just a consequence. It could be a lawsuit, or a settlement, etc..Just because they have a lease through 2027, doesn't mean they will necessarily abide to it.
