  1. Dibs on the fantasy name "Arruebarruena, I wanna take ya, Arruebarruena, come on pretty mama."
  2. No, the one who has averaged 163,1 IP over the last three.
  3. Yeah that's the thing. It would be a perfectly legitimate signing in a vaccuum but it wouldn't do much for the team's outlook since Santana is unlikely to do much more than eat innings and provide below average production. That would have more value on a team with a stronger front of the rotation but when the top two guys are basically innings eaters themselves (albeit more productive ones), it's hard to get excited. Jimenez should also eat innings but he also has some upside which a least gives more cause for optimism.
  4. I'm confused by this. So basically this whole chart is projections you've come up with using some secret sauce of yours?
  5. His positioning was straight out of the Yankees playbook and apparently it had been in there for ages. It just happened to pay off at an incredible moment.
  6. Gibby is really good with the platoon split so it will really come down to how AA manages the roster rather than Gibby. The fact that Kratz has options and that AA wants to field a huge bullpen to protect a bunch of guys who don't, probably means Kratz gets held back as an injury reserve which isn't ideal.
  7. Yep. AA made a simple Navarro versus JPA choice. Maybe he extends JPA if Navarro doesn't sign but not with Navarro in the pocket. It's no coincidence that Navarro was signed when he was. I'd suspect AA was probably fairly confident he would acquire Kratz as well. JPA was a lot more durable than Navarro is likely to be but Kratz helps to offset that.
  8. Well his upside may have been overstated but I would never go so far as to say he never had any. Those numbers you quote are interesting because they help to clarify why the Jays are still invested in him. I guess he still has stuff and in a weird way may hot have aged in quite the way an uninjured player might have (which frankly surprises me a lot).
  9. Crazy but important to remember. Sometimes people talk as if he still has the upside now that he had then. He really doesn't. Not only is it hard to expect health from him but at this point but there's no real reason to expect above average performance either.
  10. OK. Cool. You used to be able to get there by simply clicking on your team where you'd see a countdown and a pre-rank option. I don't recall ever getting there through the Draft Central tab but as long as it's still there somewhere, it doesn't matter.
  11. Did Yahoo disable pre-rankings? If so I'm pissed. Yahoo seems determined to sacrifice functionality for esthetics lately. The new email sucks. The new My Yahoo no longer has Facebook integration (the one feature that made it worhwhile). After years of loyalty, I was just about the only person I knew that hadn't switched to Gmail but they've driven me to it over the past year. Drafting is going to be a pain in the ass withoug the ability to pre-rank once and export to all teams.
  12. I wonder if technically this guy would still have options? That would make the signing even better.
  13. Swap Parra and Arroyo and that's it.
  14. I posted a roster in this thread before I went on Vacation.
  15. Yeah although it doesn't really make sense given the massive gap between this guy and Tanaka.
  16. O.K. I'm going to swap out Parra for Arroyo. I like Parra a lot more than I like Arroyo but I need a mediocre starting pitcher more than I need a good middle reliever.
  17. O.K. I'm in. Is it too late to make a roster change?
  18. Arroyo was really good for me last year but he projects to be the worst of the three.
  19. Imagine if I hadn't made all those trades, lol.
  20. I traded a late pick for Delabar earlier in the off-season but that was a purely speculative play in case of a re-shuffling of the Jays bullpen. Easy come, easy go.
  21. Taking a flight to Arizona in a few hours. After a flurry of pre-vacation moves, I've finalized my roster. 22. They also stick to the shalow end of the free agent pool so it's not like they are pursuing the kind of players that are turning down the Jays. The original point is kinda moot.
  23. He has serious foot in mouth disease. He essentially kicked himself out of baseball and he knows it but he's found another calling as a way of making peace with that.
