1. From Wikipedia: Marichal is also remembered for a notorious incident that occurred on August 22, 1965, in a game played against the Giants' arch-rival, the Los Angeles Dodgers.[23] Twice in the first three innings, Marichal had thrown near the head of Dodger leadoff batter Maury Wills. As Marichal was batting against Sandy Koufax in the last of the third inning, Dodger catcher Johnny Roseboro's return throws to the mound flew too close to his head and one grazed his ear. Words were exchanged, and Roseboro, throwing off his catcher's helmet and mask, rose to continue the argument. Marichal responded by repeatedly hitting Roseboro's unprotected head with his bat.[24] The benches cleared into a 14-minute brawl, while Giants captain Willie Mays escorted the bleeding Roseboro (who would require 14 stitches) back to the clubhouse.
2. He wasn't even the hitter! He grabbed a bat from the bench and charged. What a psycho!
3. Marichal once broke a bat on a catcher's head.
4. I voted Jimenez with the caveat that I'm assuming major health issues with Garza.
5. Don't you know being out of options is the same as being useful?
6. I'd rather have Matt Joyce than a 6th round pick.
7. I just looked up the trading record for a bunch of Expos GMs and the best I could find is this from Dombrowski's record: August 8, 1990 traded Zane Smith to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Moises Alou, Willie Greene and Scott Ruskin
8. How pathetic would that be. The team that screws pitchers left and right.
9. Best case (but highly unlikely) at this point would be Drew + Capuano.
10. Me too although Santana better be a hell of a lot cheaper than Jimenez for this to make any sense.
11. 1. Less than 5 years 2. Division rival 3. Poorly run org that pitchers don't actually want to sign with 4. Josh Johnson Q.O. money
12. The silver lining is that there's no such thing as a done deal with the Orioles. That being said AA is either an idiot for not matching this or he doesn't have any money and he's posturing. If the latter than he probably hoped Jimenez would sign for more money and to a better team because this makes him look foolish.
13. Less than five year deal at Josh Johnson Q.O. rate and that's still not good enough for AA? He was never in this. It was all just posturing.
14. This is the team no pitcher wants to sign with and Toronto can't beat their offer? This will look pretty bad if it falls through.
15. Deiferson is probably the most underrated Jays prospect.
16. Redmond last year:

[TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]IP[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]H[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]R[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]ER[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]HR[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]BB[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]IBB[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]SO[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]HBP[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]BK[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]WP[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]BF[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip hide_non_quals, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]ERA+[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip sort_default_asc hide_non_quals, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]WHIP[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip sort_default_asc hide_non_quals, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]H/9[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip sort_default_asc hide_non_quals, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]HR/9[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip sort_default_asc hide_non_quals, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]BB/9[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip hide_non_quals, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]SO/9[/TH] [TH=class: tooltip hide_non_quals, bgcolor: #DADCDE, align: center]SO/BB[/TH]

77.0 70 38 37 13 23 2 76 6 0 1 324 95 1.208 8.2 1.5 2.7 8.9 3.30

Will he replicate that? Almost assuredly he will not because those are some serioulsy awesome number but just because he won't repeat that doesn't mean we should completely ignore that it happened either. He could be a lot worse and still be a serviceable 5th starter. I don't understand the rush to bury this guy at all. He's earned some rope.
17. Is Bonifacio still available?
18. If were going to go back that far, I'll say Nelson Liriano. I thought he would lead the league in stolen bases. I was dissapointed when the Blue Jays traded him and committed to Manny Lee but it turns out neither was anything special.
19. I'll accept Bobby Cox but Farrell... that's just trolling.
20. McGowan was on that list as well. He has to be considered a dissapointment too even though it's largely due to circumstances beyond his control.
21. Delgado too although at least he fufilled his promise as hitter so did Sprague to a much lesser extent.
22. That was quite the season he put up in 2003. Totally out of nowhere though. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=quiroz001gui
23. Josh Phelps, looked so good in his first year Kelvim Escobar, had a decent career but didn't really put it together as a Jay Robinzon Diaz, probably shouldn't have expected anything from him but I did, can't complain about him netting Bautista though Alex Gonzalez, good shortstop but he dissapointed with the bat Travis Snider, obviously
24. So much for a Bailey, Phillips trade (not that there was much hope of one at this point).
