    The 2016 roster is mostly set. Makes all the sense in the world to make an investment now to save some 2017 payroll.

    Yep. Was kind of caught off guard when he became a thing. I thought I could nab him relatively late in the LOD and then he went early in the first round and pretty early so I applied that lesson here.

    Presumably once the waiver period ends which I think is two days from today. Could get a lot of picks done on paper by then.

    I'm not negotiating a deal for Maeda but even if I were I don't see how picking him over letting the other guy pick him really changes anything.

    It's not new. He's been working with both of them since at least 2014 before either was with the Jays.

    Yeah seems like MiLB 103 should be yours and Waiver 83 should be mine.

    Hurl has the 3rd overall pick and I do think that was his original slot.

    Well if he had that extra pick, he could send his last pick back to me for the MiLB 103 which is why I'm inquiring. That was the original idea behind the trade even though we botched it.

    I think one of those extra picks must be TCA's. He should have 6 picks since we accidentally did a MiLB pick for waiver pick trade.

    f***. I got mixed up. I proposed a waiver upgrade from 103 to 44 to TCA without realizing there was such a thing as waiver 103. Must have been looking at the wrong list of his. The weird thing is that in spite of this, TCA still has the regular amount of waiver picks.
