  1. Have to admit he was completely off my radar. I wasn't looking to add more pitching after already adding Maeda and Fulmer in the is draft but I still would have like to at least realized he was unowned. I definitely would have given him some consideration.
  2. Well it's win-win either way because at least I didn't trade for him.
  3. Those rate numbers were just sick up to 2012. http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.cgi?id=erlin-001rob
  4. Did I despair you on Avisail? I was really hoping I would.

  6. I think it's probably a moot point. The lottery picks are the ones that really matter and I do believe NJH took care of those. As for the other picks, it would take extraordinarily bad luck for a one pick discrepancy with those to actually despair someone.
  7. Tied to my Gmail but I checked my notifications and they seemed to have been overwritten at some point. I changed my thread notification from "smart" (whatever that means) to "instant" and my pm setting from "never" to "instant".
  8. What you're proposing is reasonable. I'll quibble with you a bit about the secondary piece when I get a chance. Might not be until tomorrow or Wednesday.
  9. a) There might have been a more effective re-distribution of talent pre-draft that in year's past but not dramatically so. There are always some players kept that aren't as good as some of the cuts. I think there is still some fallout from last year's strong rookie class. A lot of good MLB players seem to be sitting in the farm teams because they are still under the activation thresholds. Because of that, I think we might be drafting a bit further down the depth chart than we usually do especially as concerns position players. c) This league drafts minor leaguers really well. Not a of good AA talent or AAA talent slips through the cracks of the previous draft to provide more options for this one. Whatever we miss usually doesn't make the Yahoo! pool anyways. That being said the waiver draft is never great. It's just about ticking boxes. You're basically drafting strictly for need from at least the 2nd round if not the mid 1st. If someone frustrated by the lack to talent than you might be trying too hard to find a diamond in the rough that just plain ain't there and making it harder than it is.
  10. AAA rotation currently looks like this: 1. Scott Diamond 2. Roberto "Don't call me Fausto Carmona" Hernandez 3. Brad Penny 4. Wade Leblanc 5. Drew Hutchison (if he doesn't make the big club). + Chad Jenkins So yes there seem to be enough guys to fill the starters jobs but on the flip side, a healthy Nolin could be a nice asset. Might be able to ramp up his velocity from low 90s to closer to mid 90s in a bullpen role if it comes to that.

Gah... This band is so band. Sting used to play with such great musicians.

This Sing performance is making me miss Stewart Copeland even more than most Sting performances.
  13. Pointless snarky comment fail. It was SG's pick.
  14. How the mighty have fallen. Went 1-1 last year. I do like the pick though. IIRC correctly, this pick used to be mine and I would have done exactly the same with it.
  15. This seems rash. From what I understand his struggles last year were related to a groin injury.
  16. How can it be unrealistic to expect Tulo to bat leadoff for Toronto when he's already done exactly that.
  17. Oh man, I played on some fields that were basically just hard clay with the odd blade of grass and the oh so terrific all gravel infield.
  18. We don't have 30% whipping cream here in Eastern Canada so there's effectively no difference.
  19. I drafted Desclafani and Karns, both of which I traded for 1st round picks. I took some other pitchers too but I don't think any of them turned out.
  20. Only makes sense if it's a swap of bad salaries and I don't really see anyone on the Jays roster whose salary they should feel that desperate to sell.
  21. Almost everyone goes into the waiver draft with relief spots open. That being said, you can always find a half decent reliever in a 20 teamer.
  22. Holy f*** this is weird... Just as I post my trade.
