Yeah but notice that I said a 4th OF not "Jackson". They can find someone if they need to and otherwise there's nothing wrong at all with adding Storen to the bullpen. Heck, even after the trade there are still some people who would still that the Jays spend on the bullpen before the OF.
I don't understand what you're complaining about. It will be a lot easier to sign a 4th OF one a one year deal than it would be to nab a guy like Storen.
Uncertainty around Saunders, the fact that Pompey still has options, the flexibility to give Bautista some DH starts, Lake/Carrerra sucking. All those seem like compelling reason to be interested in Jackson or a similar player.
So would a safety razor actually make is possible to get a close shave and not cut yourself? I have always hated cartridge razors. You can get a really close shave if you go against the grain but then you get cuts. Or you could go with the grain, not cut yourself and get about the same shave as an electric so I just shave electric. I like the convenience.
And the year before that he was a 3 win player and the year before that even better so 2014 definitely looks like the outlier. Steamer projects him at one win if he gets about half a season's playing time and that seems about right, maybe even conservative.
You improve where you can. If Jackson can be had under reasonable terms, he's a great acquisition. He's a great defensive outfielder. He gives you the flexibility to be more patient with Saunders and Pompey and decreases the likelihood of ever seing 'Zeke again. Inflation seems to be affecting relievers more than position players right now so he might provide more value than whatever reliever can be signed for the same money. Of course, I have no idea what he's looking for nor where he wants to play but at least on the surface there's no reason to lift one's nose at this.
No, he's an actual un-closeted cosplayer. He dressed up as Thor for his birthday.

Just got caught up to this thread. Pretty epic. That whole BP thing might be the most entertaining thing to ever get buried in a fantasy thread. Who needs the main board?
ITT, people seemingly forgetting the Russell Martin WBC fiasco where he only wanted to play for Canada if he could be the shortstop. It was a dumb idea then, it's an even dumber idea now. That's the joke.
The tacit agreement with the currency adjustment was that the Jays would not go over slot at the draft. The exchange was good and Beest/AA wanted to go over slot so Beest turned it down. Ironically, MLB has hard slots now and the exchange rate has tanked.
Jose Fernandez / Jackie Bradley / Clayton Blackburn would have been a respectful haul. Even Vogelbach is mildly intriguing. Too bad I didn't hold on to any of them.
