  1. He's good. I'm not disputing that. But he's not pitching well right now. That's all I'm disputing.
  2. And his FIP is 11.14. Which one accounts for him throwing tons of pitches in the middle of the plate better?
  3. I don't know he's throwing a lot of stuff high and around the middle of the plate.
  4. Well this game couldn't have gotten off to a better start. Probably the Phillies game I was most worried about. We need to score more runs though. I could see them tagging Happ for a few.
  5. Offense starting to look MUCH better. Nola isn't a slouch either.
  6. Like you said, Tillman and Gausman should be above average but then they are basically hoping the rest of whatever 3 they use can put up a 4.5 ERA or less. The Sox are in a better position. Price is an ace (lol at you calling Wright their only good starter!) and Wright looks good too. You could do worse than Porcello as the #3. Rodriguez can probably be fine on the backend (our #5 is Dickey and he's better for what it's worth) but then they don't have anything. They'll probably make a trade. Happ and Dickey are probably backend guys but they should be pretty decent as the #4 and #5. They are definitely better than the O's or Sox's #4 and 5. Estrada looks like a stud, might be better than anyone but Price for AL East contenders. Stroman should improve and Sanchez while he lasts has been a stud. Hutch coming in for Sanchez will be some dropoff but he he'd probably be the O's #3 SP and the Sox's #4 SP. We are definitely in a better position than those teams as far as the rotation goes. With the lineup turning around and a very manageable schedule to close out the first half of the season it's looking like the Jays should be in AL East contention the rest of the way.
  7. Well that makes more sense. Perhaps the 90 to 200 IP shouldn't be a concern. It's not with Stroman for some reason. I don't mind them being cautious with what has turned out to be a hell of an asset though. What Jonn is saying, that somehow throwing 150 IP both starting and bullpen combined is worse for him than 200 IP just starting, is just stupid.
  8. If the scores hold the Jays will be just 2 GB of the AL East lead. Could increase their lead in the second WC spot depending on what the M's do as well. Not that this is particularly important right now or anything but it's remarkable how fast they have put themselves in playoff position since before that Twins series 3 weeks ago.
  9. He's not that stupid. They aren't going to put Sanchez in the pen and then Gibby starts throwing him 3 days in a row. lol He seems to understand why they are moving him to the bullpen.
  10. If the scores hold the Jays are about to be just 2 GB of the AL East lead.
  11. Then make it 20 IP with a 3rd of the season left to go. I don't know the exact number. But you can't tell me that pitching 120-160 innings (even if some of them come from the pen) is going to put more wear on his arm then him pitching 200 as a starter. The American Sports Medicine Institute released a study that said to pitch less and avoid pitching past fatigue to avoid injury, particularly TJS. Yes, pitching in relief 3 times a week is more often than starting 1.5 times a week but you aren't putting nearly as much fatigue on your arm and any concern for making more appearances can be alleviated by simply pitching in relief twice a week instead. And I don't really care if you think it's necessary. If I have to constantly see you whine about everything then you can deal with a pointed post or two.
  12. So what exactly are you saying? That Sanchez throwing 200 innings this year as strictly a starter is just as likely to keep him healthy as him moving to the bullpen midseason and throwing 150? How?
  13. Lol I can't tell if you're a troll or if you actually mean the s*** you post. Let Sanchez get to 110 innings as a starter. Then let him throw 40 out of the pen the rest of the way. Or 120 and 30 or whatever you come up with. Something like that isn't that complicated at all yet in your head you've managed to make some sort of convoluted argument that it is. lol
  14. That wouldn't shock me if he doesn't show improvement by then. He didn't get ST and he got a very limited number of AB's in the minors before being bought back. Might be best for him to go to AAA to get his sea legs.
  15. Jays should be in an okay spot at the deadline, assuming injuries don't play a big factor. Really probably only need a reliever (with Sanchez moving there they may not even need one) and a bench player (could just call up Pompey). It won't cost much to add that. In a dream world they'd add a SP but everyone will be looking for one and they don't have the prospect capital to do it. Here's to hoping the rotation stays healthy. Hutch will be our #5 soon which limits our depth so yet-to-be-stretched-out Chavez and probably LeBlanc our the #6 and #7 right now.
  16. Yeah Pompey would be a nice add considering 5 of the next 13 games are in NL parks. Would be an okay pinch hitter and good defensive replacement and pinch runner.
  17. Who is coming up? Could be a reliever and an extra positional player with the games being interleague and a couple of our guys being nicked up. Burns provides some versatility that could be useful.
  18. Jimmy Paredes making the Jays pay for releasing him. (sorry I had to)
  19. Is Zeke actually good now? A lot of BABIP in those stats but he's still hitting well and it seems his fielding is miles better than last year too. He's been a godsend for our pathetic bench.
  20. Helluva pick and tag by Goins. Martin busting out of his throwing slump as well.
