  1. Yeah they needed a starting pitcher and some starting position players and instead they got some late inning relievers and platoon bats. I think Cashman knows his team is cooked this year with the Judge injury (barring any playoff luck which is possible) so he focused on guys with some control so they could reload next year with Cole coming back.
  2. Seriously, what pitchers did you want us to get? You seem to love the Yankees deadline and I think it is criminal what they got Bednar and Doval for but outside of that, Siranthony and Varland are right there in terms of velocity, results and projections. They also got Bird I guess, but their bullpen was a mess outside of Williams and Weaver so they needed another guy more than we did. And of course we got an SP1 and they didn't acquire a starter at all despite Cashman trying.
  3. You sound like Jays24 lol We added the best starter available (seriously, that is not a misprint) and two late inning relievers that throw 98 mph and you are whining that we didn't add enough to the pitching staff? Who else did you want us to get?
  4. Adding Bieber to our playoff rotation is huge and that alone could be bigger than pretty much everything the Yankees did in total. The one thing I will credit the Yankees with, however, is that they once again didn't have to give up jack s*** for what they got. And that includes the two good hard throwing relievers who they got for free. So I think we got better than they did but we definitely gave up more. Unfortunately, MLB has a shadow rule that the Yankees only have to pay 70 cents on the dollar for their trades so there is nothing we can do about that.
  5. Lol The Jays add the best starter available in all of MLB and two good relievers The Yankees also add two good relievers and a bunch of slop and somehow we are doomed while the Yankees are destined for playoff greatness Nevermind the fact that we've been beating the breaks off of them all season and have a solid lead AND their best player may have fried his elbow
  6. He would sign a 1 year 4 million dollar deal with a team option if he were a FA
  7. So assuming Santander is out and everyone else comes back for the playoffs, our lineup and bench could be something like this: LF- Lukes/Schneider (L/R) DH/RF- Springer 1B- Vlad SS- Bo 3B- Barger (L) C- Kirk CF- Varsho (L) RF/DH- Loperfido/France (L/R) 2B- Gimenez/Clement (L/R) C- Heineman (S) 2B/LF- Schneider 1B- France UT- Clement OF- Straw
  8. Lol there is no way in hell a slap hitting LF like Roden would be getting 140 million over the next 6 years. He might be a non-tender candidate by the time he enters arb.
  9. Acquired: Shane Bieber Louis Varland Ty France Seranthony Dominguez Brandon Valenzuala Dealt: Will Wagner Alan Roden Kendry Rojas Khal Stephen Juaron Watts-Brown Solid deadline for the Jays. I believe Bieber was the best starting pitcher traded, even with the TJS? A lot rides on him performing well.
  10. Ah ok I didn't realize Gil was so close to returning. That helps.
  11. Cannot believe people think the Yankees had a good deadline Yeah they added some relievers but the rest of it is just a bunch of platoon bats and bench players How did they not add a starting pitcher? I mean hell, we also added two good relievers but we added an SP1 on top of it. The Yankees will be considering Marcus Stroman for playoff games lmao
  12. First Andrew Chafin and now Patton Oswald Peraza. This infusion of talent is just what the Angels needed to get over the hump.
  13. If my dad was in the hall of fame I'd be on a major league roster too. I'd even have the same amount of dingers.
  14. Kind of glad Billy Wagner's son is gone tbh The guy is battling for his career and he takes a weekend off to go to a party for his dad Haven't seen this kind of coattail riding since the last time we had another slap-hitting lefty infielder with a Hall of Fame father (Craig Biggio's son) Good riddance
  15. These teams aren't even playing right now
  16. Maybe Ross is loading up on fringe catching prospects to package them together to Pittsburgh for Danny Santana
  17. Padres #22 prospect. From Fangraphs:
  18. Ross is cooking something up. Valenzuela isn't on the 40-man so this clears up a spot.
  19. Atkins needs to make his trades as late as possible. He traded for a setup man and the best starter to be moved at the deadline so far. Meanwhile, the Yankees traded for a couple of Rockies players, a platoon bat and Bednar, but because Bednar was acquired after we made our trades, everyone and their 15-minute attention span thinks Atkins is sitting around not doing anything. Lol
  20. Pretty sure his track record is awful and he'd have been better off not making most of these trades. The Soto trades alone are brutal. He sure is fun when the trade deadline roles around though.
  21. AJ Preller is a madman
  22. I almost like the return the Rockies got for Jake Bird more than what the Pirates got for Bednar Ben Cherington should be jailed and stand trial for crimes against humanity the second he steps foot in the country of Canada
  23. We need a complete and total shutdown of this Yankee-Pirate trade until we can figure out what the hell is going on
  24. "Excellent swing decisions" The guy has zero homers and a .236 SLG in A-ball lol
