  1. Did you know that in MLB your pension vests after just 43 days on the active roster? In the NBA and NFL it takes 3 full years. Not bad for a league that supposedly doesn't look out for the lower and middle tier players.
  2. Insane take lol. Getting the Pirates to spend 20 more mil a year (which they should be doing anyway!) at the expense of curtailing hundreds of millions from the Mets, Dodgers, Yankees, Jays and a handful of other of teams is not going to lead to high player salaries.
  3. MLBPA does a good job and it's the best player union by far. Bryce Harper is completely right and I love that he told Manfred off. Anyone who supports a salary cap is taking the side of the billionaire owners over the millionaire players (the ones who actually have the talent to entertain us all) and the idea that a salary cap somehow helps out the mid and lower tier players is wrong.
  4. “hE’s NOt a rEAl CLoSeR” 😵‍💫
  5. Those bums blew it in the last inning and are 6.5 back. The Yanks just lost their best player who was propping that garbage team up and in response they are dumpster diving by adding Rockies players lmao. I’m not worried even if we go on a bit of a skid. &nbsp
  6. Yankees lose. Jays magic number for the AL East crown is down to 51. AL East champs remains easy to make.
  7. It sounds crazy given where each of them were at in April, but with each passing week Scherzer and Lauer continue to solidify themselves as possible playoff starters. A lot of you have been out on the Sandy's, Gallen's, Keller's for a while but I think I'm there as well as they aren't big enough improvements over the guys we have. We really need Joe Ryan or Gore or someone like that who can be the playoff ace for us.
  8. I have a strong feeling that it will be someone no one is talking about as well and I expect them to be aggressive and bold. Not entirely sure if they will do rentals or long term control.
  9. Dan Szymbborski came up with some mock trades in his latest Fangraphs article and here's the one he came up with for the Jays.
  10. I think he'll be okay. He played a couple more innings after the incident. Not sure if he's in the dugout during the game but he was in the clubhouse before the game.
  11. Soroka wouldn't be bad. Could use him as a bulk guy in the playoffs.
  12. That's too bad, Ali Sanchez sucks. Not a bad opportunity to get Kirk some rest though anyway. Wasn't going to play today and with the DH and offday coming up he'll only miss 3 or 4 games. I think Ross (when are we going to extend this guy btw??) mentioned that he wanted a 3rd Catcher. We should move a Buffalo Boy for one with options.
  13. Thank you for making a point to disagree with me only to then agree with me all the same
  14. Yankees continue dumpster diving lmao
  15. The calculus is changing in terms of what we should be trading for because the division is damn near locked up and the playoffs are almost guaranteed. We need a frontline playoff starter and late inning relievers. Any bat would have to be some sort of bench upgrade or a legit star. So Keller is out and Sandy might be too unless they are very confident that they could make a tweak to get him back to an ace. Rentals like Cease could be in.
  16. Spanky and I should never have to pay for a meal at Swiss Chalet again with all the apologies in the forms of gift cards we have coming our way
  17. The 2025 Toronto Blue Jays when they fall behind 1-0
  18. Jays have won 20 out of their last 25 games
  19. I bet the Tigers thought they had a chance when they were ahead 1-0 lmao
  20. Ownership simply doesn't give a s***. Denver is a transplant town and they have a great ballpark downtown. Between the transplants, the visiting fans (the Rockies actually advertise to other MLB fanbases), and the Denver people who just want to drink outside, they still have very good attendance. 13th in MLB this year despite sucking so bad. Ownership has also bought and developed a ton of property surrounding the ballpark and makes a killing off of all of that. The owner actually does spend a little on MLB payroll, but he hates spending on front office and player development. He's even on record saying that a salary cap should apply to those budgets. He always hires in house and they run a skeleton front office. He becomes friends with the front office people and the players and won't get rid of people because he's friends with them. I think he just promoted his 35 year old son to run the team. MLB puts up with it because he often leads negotiations during the CBA and is good cannon fodder to provide cover for the rest of the owners.
  21. I'd take a shot on either one of these guys. They can both hit 100 mph consistently.
