    Why would you disregard the splits? It's a SSS but he's so goddam bad against lefties that I think you at least have to consider benching him against LHP from time to time. Zero power, zero contact, etc. But against a guy like Fried he'll be in.

    Yanks had a more rested bullpen heading into last night's game but that has now reversed. All of their top guys threw yesterday. Devin Williams and Tim Hill have thrown 3 out of the last 4 days. Weaver threw 30 pitches last night. Everyone on the Jays is in pretty good shape except for Hoffman who will be unavailable.

    Will be interesting to see the lineup tonight. Fried is a lefty with reverse splits so we might see some lefties stick in the lineup. Aka Barger is probably in. Might see Heineman too as Kirk has caught the last 3 and had his worst game of the season at the plate last night.

    Fried has been a little shaky in his last 3 starts and he only pitched that one inning in the ASG since July 12th, Hopefully that means he's rusty instead of rested.

    Leadoff single against one of the best relievers in baseball when we are down 1 is a great way to start the inning off. Come on lol

    You’re being too nitpicky. My point is that we had a rough first inning but outscored them for the remainder of the game.

    Yanks got a big hit in the first inning and we thoroughly outplayed them the other 8 innings of the game but spotting them 3 runs was too much They were bound to win one eventually, let's get the Series W tomorrow

    Hoffman, Rodriguez and Little have all thrown in 3 out of the last 4 days. Their pitch counts are pretty low in each of those games though.

    Are we sure that Suarez is actually a downgrade for the left side of that Yankee infield defense? lmao

    Yanks are light on lefty options out of the pen. Tim Hill is the only one and he's thrown two days in a row. Weaver has reverse splits so he's another option. The rest of them are all righties and some flat at out suck vs. left handed hitting. When Rodon is out of the game the Jays should start deploying their lefty pinch hit options (Barger, Lukes, Wagner) aggressively early on.

    Both Loperfido and Barger are going to suck against Rodon's slider so they must feel that using Barger as a pinch hitter later on is a better use of their talents. Plus, Loperfido is better defensively. Ideally, they should just bat Barger 3rd in the lineup every day. It would break up the righty mainstays (Springer, Vlad, Bo, Kirk) while making it tough to pick on Barger with lefty relievers late in the game. The Book says it's not as important of a lineup spot as it would seem anyway so it probably doesn't kill us in games like today with lefty starters on the mound.

    Our lineup vs. lefties always looks so disgusting but somehow we are 8th in baseball in wRC+. Clement leading off and Schneider, Straw, Jimenez and Loperfido hitting 6-9 looks like a split squad spring training lineup.

    In the same vein, I think we could see some fireworks this series when you combine: The Yankees are still butthurt about the sweep a few weeks ago The Yankees proclivity to steal signs and cheat It's a big series between teams that don't really like each other Aaron Boone is a giant @$$hole The Yankees will deny that there is any sort of bad blood because they want to act like we are beneath them. But it's obvious that they HATE the Blue Jays.

    We need a teamwide plan on preventing the Yankees from stealing signs when they have a runner on second. They've stolen a few games this year by doing this.
