  1. If we sell at the deadline we can trade her the ultimate slap hitter, Vlad Jr.
  2. Why is the infield in? Let's just get through this game and move on to the next one.
  3. Mitch White vs. Luis Arraez lol
  4. They'll have to option Thornton after the game and get a new arm up.
  5. Just looked and we are burning through pitchers. Yimi and Cimber pitched the past two days in a row. Mayza threw yesterday. Mitch White threw 31 pitches yesterday. Richards is basically a starting pitcher now and is unavailable. Presumably they want to save Romano and Swanson for tomorrow. So Nate throws today and it looks like Mitch White will too.
  6. Pearson huh?
  7. Vlad crushes a hanging slider into the ground for a GIDP followed up by a garbage strike 3 call. Game going excellent so far.
  8. Vs LHP it's 2023: 1.181 (!!!) 2022: .810 That's not necessarily a bad thing for a risky prospect like Orelvis. Seems like it raises his floor to be a lefty-mashing utility infielder.
  9. Fun story about Mark Eichorn. My parents took my sister and I on a summer road trip some time in the early 90's so this would have had to have happened during Eichorn's second stint with the team in '92 or '93. The Blue Jays played the White Sox while we were driving through Chicago so we went to the game at the new Comiskey Park. We were sitting in the outfield near the Jays bullpen and my dad went to get snacks before the game. Eichorn noticed my mom and called her over and tried hitting on her (she's pretty). He was polite when she told him she was married and he signed a ball for her. My dad got back halfway through the ordeal and laughed the entire time. I still have the ball.
  10. When Kirk comes back I'll dump Moreno unless he shows something in the meantime. Diaz is starting to look good for the Astros anyway.
  11. Yeah f*** that McCullers guy I'm tired of his ******** injuries. Cutting the cord on him so I don't have to deal with him anymore. He's a permanent IL slot that's causing these perpetual problems anyway.
  12. Ok I dumped Sale. Now Kirk hit the DL so thinking of dumping a pitcher or even just dumping Kirk himself. In a 14 teamer it seems like all the Catchers outside of the very top ones are grouped together. I could probably just get him back after the DL stint. I also have Gabriel Moreno and just picked up Yanier Diaz, for example.
  13. Ok well then I hate that you did it. It's too graphic. We have women and children on this board for crying out loud.
  14. I really hate that Spanky made this word popular on the board lol
  15. My IL slots are all full and I need to drop someone in a 14-teamer with 18 keepers. Who would you guys drop among the following? Lance McCullers Chris Sale Frankie Montas Alex Cobb Ryan Helsley Seems like Cobb and Helsley injuries are the least severe (for now) so probably keep them? That would leave my choices between Sale, Montas and McCullers. What do you guys think?
  16. Always liked this guy. Strong as an ox.
  17. He really wasn't THAT bad the 2nd half of last year. He had a bad July last year with a 73wRC+. August was 86 and then September of last year was 111. He's off to a slow start this year but even if you want to say he's been sucking and date it back to last July, it's really not that many ABs. Maybe like 275? Way too early to write him off, especially when the ~600 ABs prior were really good. Biggio basically hasn't been good this DECADE and I see people still hopeful that he'll get it going. Maybe he will but not sure why fans still show some optimism for him and then write off Espinal.
  18. Yeah the team doesn't need a backup CFer, Varsho just slides over when KK needs a day off. Whit can play 2B and OF. Biggio can play 1B, 2B, OF. Espinal can play 2B, 3B, SS. Our DH (Belt) plays a fair bit of 1B. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get someone is extremely good in a situational bench role since they would never have to take ABs. Billy Hamilton, for example, could serve as a pinch runner only. With the new rules he could be deadly in that role. Could also be a defensive replacement.
  19. Not directed at Brownie but no idea why Biggio still has his fans but Espinal is being counted out. In the past 2.5 years prior to this one Espinal has been over a 2 WAR a season player. Less than 100 ABs later and everyone has given up on him. He had an abysmal April, was a little bit better in May and is starting to see the ball better in June. SSS alert but he's had 0 Ks and 3 BBs in 17 ABs. He's not someone you want starting but he's a fine backup infielder.
  20. It was for anyone who needed the encouragement
  21. You made a good point about signing an offensive corner bat and taking full advantage of Varsho's defense by putting him in center. That would work as well.
  22. I've been seeing some scuttle on Twitter that Spencer has been called up. Nothing from any credible sources yet. Lukes literally does not play so I'd be down for it.
  23. Orelvis' slashline as our starting 3B next year.
