  1. Brutal series. Can we get a proof of life check on Grant though please? You ok buddy?
  2. I know that Stoeten said something bad about the board once but he wrote a pretty good article about Belt and Biggio as well as their potential in-house replacements. https://stoeten.substack.com/p/the-cases-against-biggio-belt-and
  3. I think his face is always red in public because he's in a state of permanent embarrassment for all of his bonehead decisions that he made in Game 2 last year.
  4. I don't think he can. They have a glaring hole there with McMahon shifting over to 2B to cover for Rodgers and they still won't play him there.
  5. This is a good lineup. We could argue about the order but this is our best 9.
  6. I knew Cashman was full of s*** when he tried to downplay Rodon's injury right after it happened.
  7. It's probably a long shot. They trade so little it's probably due to insane prices they put on their own players. So I doubt it'd happen but could be worth looking into.
  8. The extension would make them more likely to trade him, not less IMO. Arenado got dealt with an extension and Story didn't without one. But like I said they are so irrational that you can't really say if he'll be available or not. And yeah the bat is very average, Steamer thinks it's a wRC+ of 102 this year. But his 3B defense could be elite. IDK what his contract is exactly for the final 4 years of his deal, overall it was 11.7 AAV. The final four years are probably higher bc it was backloaded but it would his age 29-32 seasons is all.
  9. They list him at 5'8'' 176 but he seems closer to 200 than he does 175. Stocky and not a very fluid athlete - he looks very slow. The statcast numbers back this up in both sprint speed and defense. They got roasted for his deal but even with the defensive concerns I think they have to be pretty pleased with it. That dude can flipping hit.
  10. I could see the Rockies trading Ryan McMahon and he would be a good fit as a great defensive player with an average lefty bat. But they are so irrational that it will be a situation where he's either definitely getting moved no matter what the offers are, or he's not getting moved at all no matter what the offers are. Will depend on how Dick Monfort feels this offseason.
  11. First and foremost, whenever the Jays need an All-Star 3B we need to look to see who the A's have at the hot corner. Unfortunately for us, I don't think Jace Peterson is going to cut it this time.
  12. Speaking of rants, this one was a classic from the Indians after-show in 2010 after we scored 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth to sweep the Indians. Clip of the Rant: Box Score: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CLE/CLE201005050.shtml
  13. Yes I want him fired. I also think he should do a lengthy prison sentence before he gets deported back to the US. I can't stand him and I don't care who replaces him.
  14. There is nothing we can do about the Rays being 23-6 lol. You tip your cap to them and hope they start losing when the schedule gets tougher. Against teams with winning records I don't think they are anything special so I think they'll come back down to earth but they'll be in it to the end no doubt. The good news is that the Yankees (expected to be our main competition) look like dog s*** right now. I wouldn't worry about the Orioles just yet. That rotation is a disaster and will bite them in the ass eventually. EDIT: On top of it we BEAT the Rays in a series this year. We are are responsible for 2 of their 6 losses! What more do you guys want? Lol
  15. John Schneider sucks ass and I've wanted him fired for ruining my life in Game 2 last year. But when you have a good team and you lose it's generally going to be a close loss. Losing by 3 or 4 runs or more just doesn't happen as often.
  16. Terrible takes guys. We are on pace for 100 wins and while it can be fun to look at the standings on a nightly basis it’s probably a good idea not to get your tittles so twisted over it on May 2.
  17. I was going to say we should call up Otto Lopez aka Captain Canada for one of our infield bench bums but he has a .450 OPS in over 80 PA's in AAA right now. Yikes.
  18. Agreed but even IF they get everyone mostly healthy they still might not be that amazing. Could be a 90ish win team with everyone relatively healthy. With the lack of depth, any injury issues could really tank them into being a sub .500 team.
  19. The Yankees Roster Resource page is looking UGLY: https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/yankees Willie Calhoun batting 6th as the DH. Jake Bauers is listed as a starter. Judge is regressing to the mean and just got nicked up. 1-4 of the rotation looks mediocre. Of all their injured players only Bader's return is imminent. Stanton and Severino should be back around the end of the month. Rodon some time after that? They'll need to tread water the month of May and then get the injury situation shored up. But some of their hurt guys could have setbacks (Stanton as well the pitchers) or they could get some additional injuries on top of the ones they've already got. EDIT: Sorry I meant 2-5 of the rotation is looking mediocre.
  20. Yeah I love going to the high K guy in those situations to try and keep them off the board completely.
  21. This was not a well managed game. Mayza pitching instead of Pop seems like a pretty conventional choice to make. And then pinch hitting for Espinal in the final inning as well. I know he’s sucked (but so as Espinal) but I would have went with Belt to go for a walk or homer. There were other possible moves to make throughout the game too. Entering the year I thought we had a really deep team. A lot of those bench pieces have sucked but it’s too early to give up on them all. Should be using the bench way more.
  22. Well I’m an internet message board Sheriff not a doctor but I would assume inflammation can be diagnosed without an MRI? Seems like it’s often the case where elbow inflammation and a forearm strain are diagnosed but an MRI later reveals something more serious.
  23. Thank you sir. Sheriffing the board isn’t as easy as I make it seem.
