    24 year old pitcher with an ERA of 4.41 across his two seasons in AA. Averages about 3 innings per start. Lol

    Cannot believe that BA ranked Frasso #68 or whatever it was in their midseason update after 25 innings of good AA ball as a 24 year old. He’s a solid prospect but that’s way too high on him.

    A little rut? Lol they have the 8th best RD in the American League. The Mariners have a better one than them and they are .500.

    Their run differential is only +13 now. They've lost 6 of 7 and despite how garbage we've been playing we are only 4 games back of them. I know you Orioles fanboys think these prospect callups are going to propel them into being "serious contenders" but they don't have enough of them to float a rotation that garbage. Tried telling you friendo.

    Reminds me of when my buddy’s sister joined our fantasy football league because we had a guy dropout last minute. She actually won the league by taking players based on who had the cutest picture. Embarrassing.

    That crazy broad actually did it. She traded for an entire team’s worth of slap hitting 2B and she’s got a contender on her hands. Amazing.

    Tatis not getting in had to do with getting busted for roids. Very frowned upon by players and coaches these days.

    Yeah I deleted Espinal bc he was a bad example. He wasn't really having a break out year anyway. But the game should highlight the biggest stars in baseball IMO. Vlad is 10th in WAR among AL 1B lol. But I'd still put him in over Ryan Noda (5th) or Brandon Drury (3rd) or Nate Lowe (2nd). Who wants to see turds like that play? Boring. Especially if Vlad being on the AS team means he'll participate in the HR derby. That is must watch TV.

    The two are often different though. Nothing worse than some no namer with a big first half getting into the All-Star game. I'd rather see a name brand player like Vlad back his way in than a guy like that.

    Just took a quick dive through Roster Resource and there are very few sellers out there. And among the obvious sellers, they really don't have s*** to trade away in the way of right handed bench bats. Pittsburgh could look to move Connor Joe or Rich Hill or something.

    Fair point, I guess it would depend on how Manoah looks over the rest of the month. We probably end up going small. Bench bat and a reliever? Atkins probably wants some controllable pieces.

    I bet John Olerud could have done it. He was probably the greatest college baseball player of all time and his stats as both a hitter and pitcher were insane. In his sophomore season he hit something like .464 with an .876 SLG and was 15-0 on the mound with a 2.64 ERA. He suffered a brain aneurysm shortly after that season but came back and put up good numbers in his junior year and completely skipped the minors after the Jays drafted him. No way the Jays, especially Cito Gaston, would let him try doing both.

    Rangers got Alrodis Chapman for Cole Ragans and Roni Cabrera. Seems like a pretty good deal for the Rangers.

    Who should the Jays look to add? The lineup is riddled with underperformers and defensive studs who aren't easy to improve on. Maybe a right handed bat to mix in with Varsho, KK or Belt on any given day would be a good target. The rotation could use a starter. If Manoah shows us something prior to the ASB we probably don't need a run of the mill #5. A bullpen addition could be an easy way to add, but with Ryu and Green returning they might be our big additions there.

    Another thing to note is that Manoah was having a tough time keeping base runners in check prior to being sent down. The Sea Dogs were aggressive today and attempted 6 steals on Manoah but two of them were thrown out. They attempted another 3 steals after Manoah left and all three of them were successful. So seems like he did at least somewhat of a good job with that too.

    So my guess is Manoah moves up to Buffalo for his next start? If he looks good there they are going to put him back in the rotation after the ASB? Not saying that's what I would do but it seems like they don't plan on him being down there for long as long as he looks ok.

    Manoah was pulled after 82 pitches and 5 innings. Final line is 5 IP, 10 Ks, 3 hits, 3 BBs and 1 ER.

    Jays AA pitcher Alek Manoah is making his first ever start for the Fisher Cats right now. He was promoted all the way from the FCL after giving up 11 ER in 2.2 IP in one start for the FCL Blue Jays. He's pretty fringe but the hope is that he can quickly work his way through the minors and become a solid back of the rotation option for the big league team.
