  1. Varsho scorched that ball. Surprised he did that with the way the swing looked. 102 off the bat and 390+ feet
  2. I actually remember the same conversations back in 2008 or so. "Oh yeah, well let's see how the Rays do when they aren't picking first every year?" They actually did it. We'll see if Baltimore can do the same. History says the Rays are an anomaly though.
  3. Not sure that I would define Laika as a Rays fanboy. BTS definitely is and it's not a good look. I definitely lost a lot of respect for that guy after he became a Rays fan. But let's not forget Hurl. His Rays fanboy-ism is probably worse than anyone on the entire board. But regardless, the Rays have been doing this for over 15 years now. That's a lot different than having a good farm system, a .500 season and then a good start through mid-June. lmao
  4. How do I apply to be a manager over there?
  5. Easy to say that now but Cimber was getting such crazy good results that it would have been insanity to cut him and keep a guy who couldn't stay healthy and wasn't effective when he was. And it's not like Cimber was a total fluke either. He threw over 70 innings in each of those years and had solid statcast data on top of it. The guy looked like our version of Darren O'Day. And it's too early to bury Cimber anyway. He might be a non-tender candidate given his status as a middle reliever but he's only got 18 innings so far this year and he's been dealing with an injury. I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a good second half.
  6. And yes posting this the night before we face them with Kikuchi on the hill is setting myself up to get dunked on by the O's fanboys of the board but I like to live dangerously.
  7. Was looking at Fangraphs tonight and saw that the best franchise in baseball (the Baltimore Orioles) have the hardest remaining schedule. I'm sure they will call up a dozen or so of the top prospects in baseball and it won't matter as they cakewalk their way to the World Series. But I did find it interesting.
  8. Yeah Schneider did a good job in this game. Pulled Berrios at exactly the right time which put us in a great spot to get the W while also saving a bunch of our arms for tomorrow. With Kikuchi and the bullpen game coming up we will need them.
  9. Alex De Jesus is showing a pulse. Went 3-3 with 2 homers, a double and 2 walks today. Both homers were big bombs. Slashline by month: April: .180/.242/.377 May: .238/.308/.425 June: .333/.450/.697
  10. Don't ask me. Ask the division leading D-Bags. They probably got tired of his noodle bat.
  11. Does Vlad have any options remaining? Send him to the complex league to go on a crash diet with Manoah
  12. Adam Frazier, known throughout his career as a slap hitter, currently has an ISO that is 13 points higher than Vlad Jr.
  13. That was a very lackadaisical tag, the throw beat him by a mile.
  14. Holy s*** did you guys see the size of that Orioles ball girl?? Lmao
  15. Carson Kelly is back and Gabriel Moreno has been demoted to the No. 2 Catcher spot after having sat the past 3 games in a row.
  16. He doesn't have to hit like this. If he hits like this he's a 4 WAR player. If he's healthy he gets 2 WAR even if his bat sucks. And he doesn't even need to be THAT healthy. 120 games and he still gets 2 WAR even if he has a crummy offensive season. Elite defensive players at premium positions have really high floors.
  17. Enough strawmen, who says they suck? And how many wins are you predicting for them and how far are you predicting they will go?
  18. 91 mph exit velocity is very good. 55/55 power hit tool combo is also pretty good. That's like a .270 hitter with 22 homers. Combine that with decent running and average fielding/arm and it's hard to see why he's only ranked #23. Probably because he's 24 and it's been a slow climb so they were hesitant to debut him high on the list so soon. But if he keeps this up he's going to skyrocket on the list.
  19. Biggio over Merrifield? Are you high?
  20. Chapman got an absolute meatball. Geeze
  21. Kramer just went right after the low and away corner against Vlad. If this were The Show I'd have hit a dinger there.
