  1. ERAs after tonight Gausman- 3.38 Kikuchi- 3.35 Bassitt- 3.49 Manoah- 4.83 Berrios- 4.91 (3.23 FIP)
  2. It depends how good the Astros are this year. This is probably the weakest team they have had in a long time after a quiet offseason followed by some big injuries. If they come in around 87-88 wins like Fangraphs projects then I think the other teams have a chance, Rangers and Angels included. The Mariners could get back in it too but they have some major issues with their lineup and depth. I think the Rangers and Angels pose more of a threat.
  3. We hosed the Mariners bad
  4. Oh wow who dug this one up? I gotta say, I'm looking pretty damn smart in this thread if you ask me.
  5. Amen! Brought this up last week but I had to throw in some Biggio and Jansen comments on top of it so everyone ignored it lol
  6. He looks like he's a bartender at the worst dive bar you know.
  7. Agreed. Both teams could make additions if they stay in it until the trade deadline. With the 3 WC spots that's certainly possible. The Orioles have plenty of prospect capital (though their fanboys on this board won't be able to jerk off to them having the #1 farm system if they trade too much of it away!) and the Red Sox presumably have money. But 2.5 months is an eternity away in MLB and they are going to have to get by with s*** rotations until then.
  8. Now until June 19th is one GAUNTLET of a schedule. ELEVEN straight series against teams with realistic playoff aspirations. No off days until May 29th and then another on June 12th and that's it. If we can get through this part of the schedule, things softens up BIG TIME both before and after the ASB. Tons of games against garbage teams. We don't really face another GAUNTLET until the end of the season when we play 12 straight games against NYY and Tampa. So the key is to play some winning baseball (anything over .500) over the next 5 weeks. If we can do that we will be in great shape, even if we end up 5-7 games out when it's done. They'll be plenty of time to make up ground and the schedule sets us up to do it.
  9. The village idiots are talking about a rebuild lmao
  10. Reported for posting about politics
  11. Yeah the velo is one thing but he's lost so much break on the slider. This whole thread shows what's going on but I'm sharing the most relevant tweet. The slider just isn't breaking. Surely this can be fixed midseason and he can be a 4.00ish ERA pitcher the rest of the way.
  12. Good choice Spanky. I like that far left one too.
  13. I don't think there is any "rape drama" though. He wasn't even there! Total and complete vindication. Bauer is different because he basically did what he was accused of, it was just consensual (according to him). But even consensually it was still pretty weird and the DA simply decided not to bring charges. Totally different circumstances.
  14. So I take it they do daily rankings?
  15. How willing are you guys to play the pitching matchups on a daily basis? Mookie Betts has 2B eligibility in my league so I've got a ton of flexibility. So today I'm thinking of playing: -JJ Bleday, lefty batting cleanup vs. RHP Clay Holmes in Yankee Stadium (good for power hitting lefties) -Alex Kiriloff, lefty batting cleanup against RHP Smyly at home Instead of: -Marcus Semien, righty batting leadoff vs. RHP George Kirby -Hunter Renfroe, righty (not sure of lineup position yet) vs. LHP Framber Valdez (he's a lefty but his splits don't seem to matter much) What do you guys think of making lineup decisions like this? Semien and Renfroe are bon a fide fantasy players, Semien especially, but they both have tough pitching matchups. Bleday and Kiriloff are upside guys but they have far better matchups. Curious to what people think.
  16. Surely not. He's been cleared of all wrongdoing as he wasn't even there. I've argued about Bauer enough to last me a lifetime but Araiza's situation is a little bit different than what Bauer went through.
  17. It would have been tough for the Bills to take on that kind of distraction. Now that's he's been cleared they should take him back. But it seems like they like their punter now and have signed him to an extension so maybe it's best for him to move on to another team.
  18. Braves are probably the best of a bad bunch but they’ve worn similar unis like that before. Angels are okay. But they all pretty much suck. I’m glad the Jays aren’t participating. Another good decision by Shapiro.
  19. All garbage and are worse than their normal jersies and alternates.
  20. Boxy was right
  21. Is there a single city connect jersey that is actually good?
  22. **SSS alert** It's that time of the year where finding the breakout guys has kind of just ended but one name to watch for is JJ Bleday. I don't know what adjustments he's made or if he's had a talent change or what. But he's cut his K rate by more than half (27% last year in AAA to 12.6% this year) and it seems to be translating over to the bigs in an extremely small sample size. Definitely worth a look.
  23. Brutal series. Can we get a proof of life check on Grant though please? You ok buddy?
  24. I know that Stoeten said something bad about the board once but he wrote a pretty good article about Belt and Biggio as well as their potential in-house replacements. https://stoeten.substack.com/p/the-cases-against-biggio-belt-and
