  1. Teoscar was traded two seasons ago when he only had 1 year of team control left. Get over it. The only reason the Debbie Downers even bring him up is because they can't whine anymore about any other former Jays like Gurriel, Moreno, Frasso, etc.
  2. It also shows you how Biggio was valued around the league. Clearing his salary and getting a fringe relief prospect with major control issues is the best the Jays could do.
  3. Given the depressed offensive environment this year I bet a lot of teams have pretty good records when scoring 3 runs, 4 runs, 5 runs, etc. but I'm not sure how to look that up.
  4. We are 32-10 when we score 3+ runs this year lol
  5. ^The most positive thing he's said about the team in months lmao
  6. I forgot about poor Dean. The mods did him a favor, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's posting around here somewhere. His last days on the board were a textbook display of someone experiencing a mental health episode. I would not be surprised if he was committed shortly thereafter. He was a truly sick and bizarre individual.
  7. Good timing to take the 5th spot back
  8. If you want to laugh at Mattingly and what he knows about hitting, this article where Ted Williams completely schools him might be of interest: And it goes on from there.... https://vault.si.com/vault/1986/04/14/a-real-rap-session
  9. Everyone is running wild with what Stang said about injuries and our offseason moves lol. He didn't mean that it's not fair to factor in the injuries of these guys, he just meant that when 2.5 months of the season has been played, any minor injuries suffered during this time will have a greater affect on the WAR output so far. He even agreed with the main point that the offseason moves haven't been great.
  10. Yeah two things can be true all at once. -The team sucks ass and is horrible to watch. -The team is also kind of decent and could very well make the Wild Card.
  11. Yeah Vlad should be an amazing hitter with this approach. 0 or 1 strikes: Trying to pull the ball into the seats. With his EV he should be good at this. 2 strikes: If the ball is close to the zone just hit it hard somewhere, even into the ground. With his hit tool and plate coverage he should be a good two strike hitter. His approach is better this year. He's laying off the soft outside stuff a little bit better and his walk rate is a career high and the Ks are the same. But he's just not doing any damage.
  12. I think they said that Vlad has 1 (or was it 0 I can't remember) home run on fastballs all season.
  13. Who said we have bad luck every year? I also never said that management is obviously doing a great job either. Varsho seems to be having some amazing luck. Jansen and IKF are having good luck. A decent number of pitchers are having some good luck too. The best luck of all is our pytho W-L which has us 3 wins better than what we deserve.
  14. Adam Macko looks like he's ready for AAA. In his last 6 starts in AAA he's got a 2.81 ERA with 46 Ks and 7 BBs in 32 innings.
  15. Allow me to polish this turd for everyone. -Yariel is the only long term deal and early returns are encouraging. -IKF was who we needed to pan out the most and he's delivering. -Green has been solid to amazing according to bWAR, RA-9WAR, ERA, xERA and even xFIP. fWAR is the only one hating on him right now. -Turner has had bad luck but even so he's a league average bat. -Vogelbach has had AWFUL luck. -Kiermaier is back in the black by accumulating .3 WAR since coming off the DL in about a month's worth of games. fWAR has always hated him.
  16. Might be some truth to this. Kirk is slashing .283/.346/.478 since April 28. On the season, Kirk's xwOBA is .321 to Jansen's .335 but Kirk is the superior defender. Jansen has cooled off considerably. If we want to ride the hot hand we may want to switch them in the pecking order for the time being.
  17. That would be pretty cool to have a team full of clutch, slap hitting defensive wizards at every position. Kind of like the 2015 Royals I guess.
  18. He's cooled off a bit. 8 for his last 50 with 1 extra base hit (a double).
  19. Doesn't matter how you pronounce it. The city is a boring shithole and the birds are taking the series. GO JAYS
  20. Why are Varsho's peripherals so garbage? He's bottom 4% in the league for xwOBA. Does all the bunting he does drag down his numbers or something?
  21. Not sure what point Connor is trying to make by spamming out random 5-10 year old contracts that pop into his head. They are all sub-200 million anyway and tend to prove the point that this version of Vlad isn't getting a 10 year, 250 million megadeal.
  22. Yeah sometimes it doesn't add up. Vogelbach doesn't play for the first couple of months now he's batting 5th. Horwitz toiling away in AAA but now he's 1 or 2 every game.
  23. He talks like he does. "“I have no grudge against the Blue Jays, despite the tense negotiations I had with the team during salary arbitration,” Guerrero Jr. told ESPN’s Enrique Rojas on Thursday. “It’s just business. I would like to be a Blue Jay for the rest of my career, but the team has not made me an offer yet."" He's said a bunch of things like that before. But who knows for sure. He's only a year away at this point.
  24. Great points. To add, I think a Vlad extension this offseason seems like a good bet to happen IMO. -The Jays don't have much locked up long term (for better or worse). They need some good players to market/compete with. -No one in the org wants to see Vlad sign elsewhere and pop off with MVP like numbers -He's a marketable guy, he's young, has a good injury history, etc. Seems genuine when he says he wants to be here long-term. -His agent isn't Boras. So there's a lot of motivation for an extension from both sides but what could help more than anything is that his price has dropped a lot. -The market is down (at least it was this year). -Vlad's performance compared to what we thought he would be is also down. -He plays 1B. He won't even sniff Devers money or Austin Riley money. He probably gets Matt Olson money, TOPS (8 years, 168M). Maybe a little higher then that, but could get a lot lower. And if you're the team, is there that much risk there? They basically pay him an AAV close to that already so locking him up through his age 33/34 season seems palatable.
  25. Encouraging to see Francis have a good game, even if it was against the A's. He's been facing some pretty good teams so far. With Yariel close to a return, those two should be able to hold down the #5 spot.
