    We will see how hitters adjust to Francis' new pitch arsenal but he and Yariel are looking like solid middle of the rotation options right now and both are under control through 2028 (Yariel) and 2029 (Francis). That helps the depth moving forward but it also adds flexibility to our offseason plans. At worst, Francis is probably solid depth and at best he fills the need for a starting pitcher. I'd probably still sign a starting pitcher but maybe instead of having to look at the Burnes' and Snells' we can drop down a tier and focus more on bats.

    Our left handed hitters have been PATHETIC since Delgado left. Adam Lind leads the franchise in WAR since 2005 (1st year without Delgado) for a left-handed hitter with 6.9 WAR. Overbay, Biggio, Rasmus and Varsho round out the top 5. Eric Sogard with just 73 games is 8th and Reese McGuire is 9th. Embarrassing.

    We need a complete and total shutdown of the Camden Yards park dimensions until we can figure out what the hell is going on Never seen such blatant rigging of a park in my life. They should be fined draft picks on a yearly basis until they change it back.

    They actually have some really good stuff but they don't pump out enough material to sign up for perpetual monthly subscriptions. Severance is a top tier show for me, though it's only got one season so far. Foundation is also really good. Black Bird was decent. Agree on Ted Lasso- people love it but I thought it was just okay. For All Mankind and Masters of the Air are on my list.

    Everyone always gushed about his curveball but it seemed so much different than his other pitches so it was probably easy to spot and hammer. Now he can use it as a show me pitch once in a while to throw off their timing or to try and steal a strike.

    The prospect rankings seem fairly tight for every team other than the very top and very bottom systems. The difference between 6th and 22nd probably isn't as great as people think. -Entering the year both teams had one 55 FV. -They had three 50 FVs and we had one. -We had one 45+ FV and they had zero. -We had seven 45 FVs and they only had 4. -We had more 40 FVs as well. I guess those two extra 50 FVs make them a Top 10 and us a bottom 10. But that's basically wiped about by one of our 40 FVs projecting for 3 WAR now and one of their 50 FVs projecting for 1.5. But even if their farm is better, it's basically wiped out by having a bigger payroll anyway.

    Yeah they are definitely similar but Schneider was doing fine up until 1 month ago. It could just be a slump and he projects pretty well and Biggio doesn't so there is a difference between the two. If Schneider starts sucking again next year then they can simply option him and then cut him lose when he's out of options. Biggio was ass for 4 years in a row and kept getting tendered contracts.

    Yeah finishing close to .500 means Will Wagner shows he's a good player, Horwitz continues to hit, Vlad continues to ball out, etc. That's likely to be better for the longterm future of the franchise then drafting 6th instead of 11th. And it would bode well for 2025. A year in which the Jays are seemingly going to be aggressive and try and contend, like it or not.

    Yeah it makes sense. Wagner at 2B and Horwitz at DH allows the team to focus on LF, 3B, SP, and 4 relievers to turn this team into a contender. Lol that's a lot of holes to fill. I'm also not ready to bury Schneider. With all these newfound lefties in the lineup he can sprinkle in at 2B or LF or maybe even DH as a platoon bat. It all fits pretty well.

    Yeah Bregman gets a lot of hate here. I think his personality subconsciously rubs people the wrong way but it's mostly because everyone assumes he's going to get some monster deal. Matt Chapman was projected to get 5 years, 120 mil and ended up getting 3 years, 54 mil. Need to monitor Bregman closely because he'd be a great add on the right deal. Same with Chapman.

    Yeah he could be a good trade piece. I also think he'd be fine as the DH. Nothing wrong with having one that can also play the field.

    Tight game in the 8th inning and setup man Zach Pop induces his patented ground ball to SS. Bo bobbles it before feeding Horwitz who can't get the ball out of his glove before throwing a 70 mph strike to Vlad who has the ball go through the webbing of his glove. Giancarlo Stanton just beats out the GIDP before Anthony Volpe hits a 3-run bomb the next AB. Jays lose 6-4.

    Yikes, I don't think he's THAT bad. You are describing him like he should be in the Mexican League but I think it's clear at this point that he belongs in MLB. It's probably just as a bench/platoon player and not a starter. He does plenty of things well enough. Average/acceptable D at both 2B and LF. Very good walk rate. Solid power. His main problem is that he has high launch angle, mid exit velos, and high K's, all of which combine to tank his average. But even so he's projected to be a 2+ WAR player. He's not bad.

    Yeah it's definitely an annoying problem. We've got some good options that are cheap and young but their best position is 2B.

    Yeah the dreams of him being a 3 WAR player are gone. He should be a good short side platoon player and bench player though. He does lack defensive versatility but he's actually much better in the OF than I thought. So he at least can play close to average at both 2B and LF. He and Wagner would make for a great 2B platoon.

    The Score had an article today suggesting that he'll blow Pujols' deal out of the water and will merit consideration for a deal like Harper or Devers.

    Yeah I don't think they should do moves like this but if they really do want to win the WS they will need to swing for the fences in FA and hit some home runs. Signing Snell and getting 5 WAR out of him next year before he implodes, trying to get a 30 homer season out of O'Neill before his roid-addled muscles tear off the bone, going over the luxury tax on 1 year deals for expensive and old pitchers, etc. are the types of things that I think they could consider. You are kind of argumentative toward me in your post (granted, you'd probably argue with me if I said the sky was blue so it could just be your posting style) but I don't recommend these moves, to be clear, so I think we are mostly on the same page.
