Yeah if a pitcher can spin a breaking ball through the very outer edge of the zone, to the point where the ball is only in the zone for split second it takes to trigger a strike by the roboump, the pitch will be very difficult to hit.
You'd also think it would help the stuff guys in situations where they miss their spot but the ball is still in the strike zone. If the Catcher has to flail to catch the pitch, the umps now generally call it a ball, even if the pitch was in the zone.
