    The deadline is fine, I think the Jays would probably prefer to do it during arbitration and if it bleeds into ST a little I bet he backs off. Not really sure on the number tbh. The market has changed, so in some ways your expectations on the dollar amount should as well.

    I would suggest to the mods that this is now officially troll territory (it has been for months) and should be treated as such. I haven't closely followed this YEARS long feud between jaysblue vs. max and brownie but it's ruining the board. I usually just scroll past it (unless jaysblue tees something up for me which he often does) because it's become boring and formulaic. 1. Either Max and Brownie post something that attempts to add some nuance to the discussion or jaysblue posts something that you'd find a 60 year old woman posting about on a Blue Jays facebook group. 2. Jaysblue comes in and mischaracterizes the entire post and calls them Atkins lovers 3. Max and Brownie take the bait and we have a fullblown argument on our hands This has been going on for months, heck, maybe years at this point and it's boring and stupid. Max and Brownie at least try to argue in good faith, jaysblue is clearly not.

    Ok well 60% of 765 million is 459 million. That’s probably close to what an extension looks like. Sound like I was right on track the entire time

    That's not true. I've been saying Devers money (10 for 313.5) for months. Prior to his big bounce back season, yeah I was leaning toward under 200, as was the conventional wisdom at the time. Passan was even saying the same thing. But a big season and the market changing is also going to change what I think he can/should get.

    He could be the Jays best, and perhaps only, chance to lock up a 5 WAR player. They can sign the 3 and 4 WAR guys, but the star and superstar players are always going to have major interest surrounding them from the big spending teams. I'd give him 400-450M in present day value and if he wants more than that then I would see if he would bite on deferrals to get it there.

    One of the Orioles Hangouts main guys (I think his names was Weems? And I think he may have died in real life?) used to come over here and talk s*** to us. He once bragged about how Orioles Hangout had a "real life celebrity" poster on their board. The celebrity he was bragging about was Roy Firestone lol. So there's all sorts of backstory that has made Orioles Hangout a meme.

    Thanks admin for your work over the years. I'm sure at a certain point it became an annoyance and chore to deal with the site but you always kept it running for us. And let me be the first to welcome you to the board Brock! If you need some help getting the lay of the land I'd be happy to help. I used to be the Sheriff here (since retired) so I know the ins and outs of this place as much as anyone. I have a few suggestions to help you start off strong. First, I would recommend that you ban the two aging sex pests who have been asking for it from the start. Everyone knows who they are so I don't need to name them publicly but feel free to DM me and I'll let you know who they are.

    Does Walker's interesting profile change the equation for you at all? He's basically a unicorn when it comes to impactful 1B defense. Or does that not matter because age effects hitting, fielding, baserunning all the same?

    Of the deals I can remember since Soto signed and relative to projections: -Fried broke the bank -Kepler slightly underpaid -Walker beat the projections slightly
