Hard to take the Dodgers deals at face value though. It could be a present value 2 year deal worth 16 mil. So really only 1 year extra than the crowdsource prediction.

I was all over Conforto and Snell this offseason and sure enough, the best franchise in sports validates my thinking by signing them. If it wasn’t for my lengthy criminal record and alcohol and narcotics addictions, I would be working in an MLB front office easily.

For now but with signing bonus and deferrals that every one gets from the Dodgers these days the present day value will probably drag it down to more inline with what we thought.

Yeah we probably aren't plugging all of the holes but the "holes" just aren't that bad. If we didn't sign a single free agent we'd be projected to get average or better production out in the field everywhere except for the Buffalo Boy slop we'd be trotting out in LF. The rotation wouldn't be bad either. The bullpen would be horrid. That said, 2026 is looking real dicey with Vlad and Bo being FAs and the rotation getting another year older. So maybe you are right, the play should be 1-2 year deals. Conforto, Moncada, Lance Lynn, and 3 relievers. WC3 contention will be easy to make.

The sheer size of that deal is a bad omen for the Jays. Severino got Chris Bassitt money and he projects for less than 2 WAR next year. They are going to need to pick and choose which holes to fill and some are going to simply remain open.

Main problem with Bauer is that while he was seemingly vindicated in his main sexual assault case, he still has several others that are pending, including one that was filed earlier this year. No team is going to sign him under those circumstances.

Yeah 80s and 90s sports cards were mass produced to the extreme. Their are still millions of unopened boxes of that stuff. And they didn't do inserts really so none of it is that rare unless you can get a PSA 10 as you said. I thought my Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card was going to fund my retirement one day but that thing is probably worth a steak dinner at best. -
