  1. nah...i'd rather take the lead..good thing they didn't pitch hit
  2. that wasn't a terrible pitch...down and in....jones just got it....
  3. colby off to a good start so far in the second half of the season...hasn't had a productive second half in his career...this could be the year!
  4. kawa has his best games against the orioles for some reason....almost a double there.
  5. well if you're only going to have one thing it may as well be power...jp is incredibly streaky...he's got a hit in 6 of his last 7 games...and the only game he didn't get a hit was last game where he had one at bat as a pinch hitter and took a walk....here's to hoping he keeps it going.
  6. Colby was striking out over 40% of the time earlier in the year. He's struck out 18% of the time in his last 12 games. He's walking a bit more of late as well. The two go hand in hand. Is Colby figuring things out. It would appear so, but it could just be a hot streak. He's broken down the second half of the season fairly consistently. Does he physically break down, mentally break down? What's the reason? We're 5 games into the second half so far. Here's to hoping he doesn't break down in the second half this year. Colby is still only 26 years old. The season is long and gruelling and it can take time to learn how to physically and mentally tackle a 162 game schedule.
  7. jays are 9th out of 30 teams in the MLB in runs scored per game. I'm not sure that would qualify them for a pitiful evaluation. They haven't been healthy all year. Reyes has missed most of the season. Melky has been there but has not been healthy while playing. When the team gets a healthy melky back and lawrie back I think the offense is pretty solid.
  8. kawasaki only seems to get hits when the game is on the line...he's a media whore..he wants another interview..lol
  9. I like the idea of stretching mcgowan out....he even said in his interview with lott the other day he wants to be a starter again one day...
  10. I like that...but that leaves the team with 4 starting pitchers. Who from the bullpen moves in to become a starter?
  11. Ricky Romero since ditching new mechanics and going back to his old stuff: game 1 5 2/3 innigs 3 earned runs 3 so 2 bb game 2 6 innings 0 earned runs 3 so 3 bb game 3 7 innings 0 earned runs 6 so 3 bb game 4 3 1/3 innings 5 earned runs 2 so 5 bb game 5 6 innings 3 earned runs 7 so 1 bb game 6 6 innings 3 earned runs 3 so 2 bb game 7 7 innings 2 eanred runs 7so 2 bb totals 3.51 ERA 31 so 18 BB since going back to his old mechanics. Still a few too many walks, but K rate is decent and clearly trending in the right direction.
  12. doesn't gose have to hit at the minor league level before he comes up to the bigs?....gose can wait till september...lawrie should be up asap..
  13. he never ran hard out of the box....you could see in the replay...
  14. Melky's been playing hurt all year...this has more to do with his performance than lack of peds
  15. people only post the negative because they hate lawrie....people will post 0 for 3 last night...not 0 for 3 with 2 walks.....at any rate, he's looked good at new hampshire. I want to see walks out of lawrie and he's had plenty on this rehab stint. Lawrie never fully had his timing down in the majors this year. He was coming around just before he got hurt. His approach and ability to see pitches and take bad pitches was sorely lacking. Thus the walks are more telling than the hits in his rehab stint. If Lawrie improves his approach..he's going to come back a dangerous hitter. I think it's funny that people say he's over-rated....based on everything people on here post, I would guess people on here think he's a .700 OPS player....I would say that's massively under-rating him.
  16. Boni is a bench piece.....who cares...JPA...hopefully something done there...but he's a number 8 hitter....lawrie...he's an *******, but he's a talented *******...he's taking lots of walks so far in his rehab....which is good..and he's going to be very good when he comes back. He has had a bad year so far, but we're talking about 37 games. That's an insignificant amount of games and not a large enough sample size to guage anything. People can't separate their hatred of the guy when evaluating his talent. I can't believe how many people have written Brett off. Brett is an arrogant prick, but he's an arrogant prick who's going to do lots of things to win games for the jays.
  17. i'm not entirely sure what that's suppose to mean..lol
  18. seriously....who would have ever guessed he would get that velocity back...he has all the pitches.....stretch him out...it worked with rogers...there's tons of arms in the pen and lincoln is in AAA and Santos is starting a rehab assignment....we need starting pitching!
