getting to .500 is really dependant on starting pitching...buehrle, dickey, johnson and oddly enough rogers.....the last week should at least have given you a glimmer of hope....the offense was very good in may...once reyes gets back they will be that much better...

how did mcgowan look like s***..he had great downward movement and wasn't getting strike calls on balls that were in the bottom of the zone...he was throwing 97 and derosa committed an error on what would have been a double play....and then he struck out the next batter...should have gotten out of the inning with 3 outs?

Bonds played in an era with no testing...The biggest misconception about steriods is that tests for them are easy to beat. This is not true. Since testing was implemented the steriod cocktails that stayed in your system for 3 to 6 months which is what bonds and all the other guys were on are no longer used due to random testing. The drugs used now clear your system much quicker and you basically are gambling you won't get tested while you are on it...but you will eventually get caught like Braund did...but he got off on a technicality. Most guys aren't using...it's pretty evident when you look at the home run and power numbers, which are down significantly since testing was implemented. -
Just checked in on the game day thread...read all 11 pages...too funny...rogers brutal..offense sucks...we no going to score....oh my melky delivers...ok...1 to 1..we still suck....going to hit into a double play....oh wow....we scored 4..we're winning....lol...too funny.

I have no opinion one way or the other...but I'm intrigued how many of you formulate your opinions about pitchers you've never seen before. Is it one particular analyst...whatever he says about players you treat it as gospel....is it the stats of players....the velocity reports? Is it the consensus estimates from many scouts and analysts that you trust? It's not easy to determine what major league players are going to do in a year and there is often loads of history and stats to go on...the magin of error can be quite high at times even on big leaguers.....when you're talking about a 17 year old where you have no idea of the competition he's facing etc....the margin of error on player rating is infinitiely higher. I'm convinced of one thing.....Bickford's performance as a professional pitcher will evetually be somewhere between dogshit and cy young contender...

I don't get the melky suspension...his suspension ran till the end of last season..all the biogenesis talk came out a month or so after that...unless he went back to biogensis in the winter he shouldn't face another suspension... -
Berkman is a joke.....but it's hard to argue against Ortiz..he's been a monster again this year despite missing the first 3 or 4 weeks of the season....EE should be there for a sub.....

the back end of the bullpen namely cecil delabar janssen and loup have been fantastic and whipping boy Rogers hasn't given up a run in something like 12 or 13 innings.....now can we get some starting pitching...josh jo gets his opportunity tues...come on man...put up a good outing!

He's got to string some good starts together or he'll be signing a one year 6 mil deal with someone.....hopefully he's motivated and plays well on his return.

I defend and cheer for all the jays..lol. How did that Rogers decision work out? All the experts on this board were certain it would be a failure....nope....shut out....10 straight shut out innings for Rogers as a matter of fact.

nope...but i'm not sure what you will get for him..it's his last year....doesn't mean you shouldn't try and get something for him, but no one is going to trade for him until he's back and pitched some games.

JPA's defensive liabilities are grossly over exaggerated by many posters who hate the guy on this board. His defense on the whole has been better this year, especially when you consider 3 of his 6 passed balls came in his first ball game with Dickey pitching. The dude needs to improve his approach at the plate, but on the whole a .745 OPS isn't terrible considering his defense has improved over last year. He's capable of more offensively and needs to quit being so stubborn with his approach, but he's not far off where I expected him to be. Some of the pitching on the other hand is miles off where it should be. There are a lot of other players that should be held to account for their play before JPA.

This is the AA bashing board..lol. Sure the guy has made mistakes...all GM's do. I just find it funny how much smarter everyone on this board is than AA.

wow...the hatred for AA is too funny....AA does not use anyone in close games...john gibbons does. Who's rotting??..it's not even June.....there's lots of reason's why players are brought up and sent down..it's not like we sat on terrible relievers for several months..GM's make decisions..sometimes they are right..sometimes they are wrong. You'd think guys like storey and weber had been here for months by reading your post, but then you go the stats and see they both pitched less than 4 innings for the jays this year..lol...rotting...too funny.
