  1. AL Central is pretty wide open. A couple solid low key moves by the Royals put them right up there. Don't think they will be in the cellar at all. Could definitely be a sleeper team in the AL if they make a couple solid additions this offseason. Worst case scenario, they become some nice trade assets at the deadline.
  2. Trade in a 20-team dynasty: I receive: Kirk, DeLuca and Quero I trade: Verlander and Beeter Thoughts? Thanks!
  3. It's best to just go year-to-year with these types of players when they hit that age. Even the Red Sox went year-to-year with David Ortiz in his late 30's. Would rather sign them at $18-20M per season on one-year deals versus offering multiple year deals to just save a couple million off their AAV.
  4. Ideally, would rather sign JDM to a 1 year deal at a higher AAV instead of getting him at 2 years. Jays likely have to offer him a couple more million or tack on an extra year if competing with other teams.
  5. Never been to Scottsdale, but Dunedin and the surrounding area is beautiful. Dunedin is one of my favourite towns and love the Clearwater/Tampa area. City wise, downtown LA is literally worse than Toronto, but the surrounding areas are definitely better. Weather wise, huge advantage.
  6. Yeah even two years I'm a little hesitant but wouldn't lose sleep over it. Jays either have to offer higher AAV or tack on an extra year.
  7. I like Brantley as well as a possible replacement for Belt and suggested him earlier. Shapiro/Atkins came close to signing him a couple of years ago, so I think there is still interest in both sides to some degree. Would hope the Jays make up for that power though in the outfield and at 3B, if they planned on employing Brantley as the primary DH.
  8. I read here just a while ago some poster suggesting it lol. He likely gets $14-15M from a team to play in the US. Jays likely have to pay him around $18M-20M to get him to sign here. Maybe I'm wrong.
  9. I wouldn't give JDM a three-year deal. Memories of Frank Thomas are still vivid. One-year is good enough for JDM. Likely will cost $18M. Think he would be a great fit in this lineup!
  10. Yeah it's a free agent year and he does have some serious pop. If he goes out and hits 35+ HR's, along with a 5-6 WAR season, likely could get Semien money as a free agent.
  11. That's why Rogers really wanted the Jays to go hard after Ohtani this offseason. To make sure they could protect their huge investments they made on the new renovations especially the new Infield Club area. Ohtani would have secured that likely over the next couple of seasons. Imagine the amount of phone calls they would have had the next day of people wanting to purchase season tickets or flex packs after Ohtani officially signed? Imagine how much more corporate seats/memberships they could have sold if the Ohtani signing became official?
  12. Let's get it trending on Twitter haha. I'll keep a lookout on any private jets flying from Santa Ana or Orange County Airport haha.
  13. Only way Shapiro is in danger of losing is his job is if Rogers doesn't make the profits they expected from investing in those huge renovations at the Rogers Centre. Shouldn't be a concern for next season because we know there is always hype at the beginning of the year to see the new improvements and they've probably already sold a fair amount of flex packs/season tickets for 2024, including corporate seats/boxes for the new 100 Level Infield Club. Signing Ohtani would have really helped with this and would have been a slam dunk. Ticket sales/profits are more of an issue in the long term that coincides with team success. If the Jays regress down to an 80-win team for any reason, and/or don't replace Bichette or Vladdy with some star power, that likely will impact attendance figures. Regardless of all the new ballpark renovations, if the team isn't a contender and disappoints, fans won't be caring about chilling at the Corona Rooftop Patio or down in the Infield Club.
  14. Yeah if Yelich costs very little to acquire via trade, would rather have him at 5/136.5 over signing Bellinger between $200-250M. Yelich still likely is a 4 WAR player for another 2-3 more years hopefully. If you can get either Adames or Burnes as well at a discount for taking on Yelich's contract, that would be real sweet. Like others have mentioned, can move Adames to 3B. RF Springer LF Yelich SS Bichette 1B Guerrero DH sign one of the FA's available 3B Adames C Jansen/Kirk CF Varsho 2B Schneider/Biggio Rotation: Gausman Burnes Berrios Bassitt Kikuchi Looks good to me!
  15. Tough call. Next class of FA's, other than Soto, Bregman is likely a close second on a guy to go "all in" on, though he's going to be 31 in 2025 and his offensive numbers have kind of regressed the last couple of seasons. Not sure if he can offer another 8 WAR season like he did in 2018 and 2019. Geez that would be so sweet! If Bregman moving forward is just a 4-5 WAR guy (which isn't a bad thing at all haha), probably would rather re-sign Matt Chapman if you could on a 4 or 5 year deal around $80-100M. Chapman is still capable of putting up 4 WAR seasons. I could see Bregman demanding a 7-8 year deal most likely, north of $200M.
  16. Better if Atkins re-creates Bellinger in the aggregate.
  17. I wouldn't sign both Brantley and Martinez. Only one of them. Both are old and likely require the DH spot full time. I also see JD Martinez getting probably around $14-15M and the Jays probably gotta give him around $18M or a two-year-deal to sign him. Urshela would be a great buy low candidate at 3B. Likely could squeeze 2+ WAR out of him. Montas is also a great buy low/bounce back candidate but he probably wants to sign somewhere where he's guaranteed a rotation spot. Hicks likely gets $40-50M given the deals handed out to relievers over the last couple of seasons. Would love to see him back but if you're going to spend that type of money on him, would rather go big on Hader instead.
  18. It shows commitment from ownership that they are willing to go big on the right player or pitcher, which is a great sign. Rogers viewed Ohtani differently than any other FA available for business and marketing purposes to coincide with their renovations to the Rogers Centre, which is why the Blue Jays were finalists.
  19. Looks like the Rays could be selling off a lot of pieces this offseason. Would definitely target Paredes for 3B or Arozarena for the OF.
  20. I'm busting your chops mate!

The AFC is pretty wide open now. Jags won't be a force, no Bengals, Dolphins are beatable, and the Chiefs look broken. Bills just need to get in and they have a chance. If they play well over these last 4 weeks heading into the Playoffs, definitely helps. Only team that I think will be tough in the AFC are the Ravens. Though I don't consider them in the same class as the 49ers, Eagles or Cowboys.
