  1. They were talking about this on TSN Overdrive yesterday. Blue Jays have put together winning teams every season in their competitive window under Atkins. The Jays have been pretty much like the Leafs. They have a solid team during the regular season, but when it comes to the Postseason, they haven't been able to take that next step or win that big game with this group. I think Shapiro is safe regardless of what happens and stays here as long as he wants to stay in Toronto. If the Jays crash and burn however, Atkins is likely gone. If the Jays have another winning season and win a Postseason series, I think Atkins is kept around.
  2. Cole Ragans wins the AL Cy Young as well.
  3. Kansas City Royals win the AL Central and Bobby Witt Jr. wins AL MVP.
  4. Frankie Montas is the Reds Opening Day starter. Wow.
  5. FFS I know! I was looking forward to the Braves/Phillies game tomorrow afternoon. Ugh this sucks. Hopefully more games aren't postponed tomorrow.
  6. - Varsho will hit 30 HR's with 80 RBI and steal between 25-30 bases. - Kikuchi will strike out 200+ batters. - Votto will post similar numbers like he did in 2018 and have an .OBP above .400 and post a WAR between 2.5 - 3. - Bassitt will land on the IL and only make 20 starts. - Biggio will hit 20 HR's.
  7. If you're an athlete in another sport like MLB, are you still allowed to bet on other sports like NBA or NFL etc?
  8. Would have been nice to bring in an extra SP this offseason who could have battled for the No. 5 spot and for depth purposes. Manoah looks like a lost cause at this point and sucks having Gausman start the season on the IL. Gotta hope majority of the other arms like Berrios, Bassitt and Kikuchi could stay relatively healthy again and make 30+ starts.
  9. Only the 4th inning geez lol
  10. My friend just texted me the same thing, even before that Muncy gaff haha. How can you spend 1B in an offseason and not have a dependable SS and 3B defensively.
  11. Merrill has a real nice swing.
  12. Yeah that definitely will be a better series. The series in Asia always have to be done in March because of the constraints of the MLB season, as well as the Asian Leagues like the KBO or NPB season games taking place April onwards. I don't think there would ever be a perfect time for regular season games in Asia. They should just make them ST games instead rather than regular season games. Fans in Asia would still pack the ballparks.
  13. Dodgers now paying 3.25. Wonder if they have comeback magic again like yesterday or Musgrove now settles in.
  14. Yeah for sure, especially with a week of ST games remaining. I think the MLB needs to do something in-season instead if they could make it happen. But would screw up with the pitcher's routine and you would have to give each team a couple days off before/after a series especially if it's in Asia. They probably could play a series in Europe no problem during the regular season. 6 hour time difference isn't as bad as 12 lol.
  15. Got the early payout for the Padres! Woo hoo!

The Leafs offense is explosive but it's going to get shut down by better defensive and tougher teams when the Playoffs roll around. The Leafs as well will have games where they are a defensive mess and give up 4-5 goals. It's deja vu every year with this group. The Leafs took care of a Washington team easily tonight, putting up 7 goals. You think that is happening against a team like Boston or Florida? Even still, Leafs allowed 3 goals tonight and weren't defensively sound.

They're a borderline Playoff team in the Eastern Conference. Leafs aren't playing a team like the Capitals in R1 or R2 lol.

Against a Washington Capitals team! Bravo! This won't happen in the Playoffs.
  20. Cronenworth hitting 3rd is funny lol.
  21. They still could contend for a WC spot lol.

Almost with the comeback. If they never allowed that 4th Flyers goal, damn. Leafs have one of the most explosives offenses in the NHL. Just need to be more physical. They need two stud defensemen who could defend.
  23. I played against the Blue Jays in MLB the Show tonight and won 4-1. Some things I noticed: - A lot of ground balls from the Jays lineup when pitching to them. Not many line drives. - Vladdy hit into a double play during a crucial moment with runners on base. - Kirk is extremely slow. He hit a couple of balls deep in the hole at SS and 2B, and was easy to still throw him out at first. - Gausman was solid against me for 6 innings, but came out of the game in the 7th after allowing a hit and Genesis Cabrera came on and gave up 3 runs. - Defensively, Jays outfield can cover ground. Was tough getting a ball between or by KK and Varsho. - Varsho is a fantastic base runner. Made a lot of infield grounders close at first base. - Biggio was the starting 3B and hitting 5th lol. Offensively he was a disappointment in the game. - Jays lineup seems heavily right-handed at the top. In the late innings, just brought on a tough RHP reliever who mowed down Springer, Bo, Vladdy and Turner.
