  1. I'm not saying that it will happen but don't be shocked if AA moves a decent kid or two + Sierra for Rios.
  2. For those who say that managers don't matter much... AA asked Gibbons if he wanted to go with Jenkins, Nolin, Lincoln or Cecil to start short term. Those were the only names mentioned and he said that he had his guy in Rogers. Now give credit to bullpen catcher Andreopolous and to Walker but that's pretty bold if you ask me. Without giving much detail AA gave Gibby credit for the Rogers decision to USA Today but around the club everyone knows that this was pure Gibbons! Full credit to the former catcher for knowing his s***!
  3. Pittsburgh actually like Bonifacio. Don't ask why. They have de Jesus behind Walker btw and he is tearing it up at Indy.
  4. The club is .500 and on the move. Lind is a key piece and has several team friendly options. He's not going anywhere this year!
  5. So really-- anyone calling me a homer or unrealistic now?? Just sayin'.
  6. He won't get there but Lind should!
  7. And that 1.99 ERA includes that damp and windy game in Chicago that had the fog delay. The weather had Dickey all messed up.
  8. From the USA Today article... "1.99 ERA over the last 15 games. Their bullpen has a 24-inning scoreless streak, yielding a 0.67 ERA since May 31."
  9. Buherle has stunk for the first 5 weeks in each season since his 31st birthday. I'm not sure why people were surprised by his early failures or by his turnaround. He does this every year.
  10. New team slogan, "Winning With Fastballs and Innuendo."
  11. When you're 27-0 and the only undefeated team in baseball when your pen inherits a lead, the manager has to get some credit for pulling the right strings.
  12. Can I vote for bring up Negrych? Lol. He plays 3b and both corner outfield positions in addition to 2b. Ok, not happening.
  13. How have people made the Dickey, Johnson, Wang jokes and forgot Rogers? Crowd not British enough? Lol.
  14. How about this? Toronto NY Yankees Boston Baltimore New Jersey Montreal Cleveland Detroit Chicago WS KC Minnesota Houston Texas Oakland Seattle LA Angels ------------- Miami Atlanta NY Mets Philadelphia Washington Pittsburgh Cincinnati Indianapolis St. Louis Milwaukee Chicago Cubs Colorado Arizona LA Dodgers San Francisco San Diego
  15. Yep pretty much. That quad though-- it hurts his swing from the right side. That concerns me more than him running funny.
  16. So we have a lucky Wang? It didn't have to be said but it had to be said.
  17. It also probably looks more serious to people watching. A right quad and a left hammy? That will make you look funny walking and running as you try to compensate for each.
  18. Neither is considered serious in medical terms and the club used the word irritation. Translation- grade 1 strain of left hamstring and grade 2 strain of right quad. Neither would require surgery or lay him up but both cause pain and tightness. Quads take longer and linger and are just a bitch!
  19. May 14th MRI. It's left hamstring and right quad.
  20. I don't know if that'll do much. His hamstring should be almost healed. He is well past rest and elevate. It's the quad injury to the other leg that's more of an issue and that might take 3+ months to heal. I'd just play him but would certainly DH him a lot for now so to limit his running.
  21. I think that they were being super conservative with expectations and anything being said about Reyes. There had just been too many recent public disappointments in regard to player injuries. PR matters, as does team morale.
  22. Today he has 217 plate appearances and is a non qualifier for statistical leader boards. His cutoff is 120.1 plate appearances (3.1/team game). By Sunday or Monday he will be top 5 in the league for batting average and his name will appear for OBP, etc.
  23. Huh? Pretty sure that the experts who count know that Romero was short arming with a sore elbow. Then he had surgery and tried to regain form with proper mechanics, something he never really had, in order to keep his elbow healthy. He found that pitching in pain or pitching unlike himself netted the same results-- no command! Now he's trying to just pitch the way he used to and it'll probably work until two years from now when his UCL is torn up. Btw, Yogi was joking.
  24. I preferred D.J. Peterson and Hunter Renfroe and if I was going for a pitcher I really preferred Braden Shipley and Chris Anderson.
  25. The City of Houston is on a Detroit path. It's a hole with high crime and is scorching hot and sticky in the Summer. It's also very ethnically, how do I put this-- not white! That sounds awful but it's a real factor for people with money. Oh did I mention that it's one if the fattest cities in America.
