  1. Just 15 votes? That's like a 10 AB sample size.
  2. All flags that are not representative of baseball teams that play in the park or league or national flags of teams that play in the league or an international flag of a national team playing in a game or tournament in the park and the home State and city flags.
  3. Fair enough. I personally would exclude all charities, all groups, all political parties, all lobbies, all organizations from ever flying a flag at a MLB game. No Gay Pride, no Cancer Society, no United Way, no NAACP, no US Army, no Heart Foundation, no anything! Again, I'd have no problem with a Pride Day banner in the park. Heck, play YMCA or It's Raining Men during the 7th inning stretch. Have a cross dresser throw out the first pitch. Just no flag.
  4. There are many people who take issue with the Cancer Society. Some believe that they cash grab and a huge amount of money does not go to research. How aböut Green Peace? It's very suspected as being a dirty organization in regard to their finances. They are also militant. Perhaps it's traditional and people are losing site of history but flags are very different than banners or signs or patches. Flags are meant to be on a much higher level of importance.
  5. How would you feel if the Angels decided to fly the Flag of Israel on a Jewish holiday?
  6. I see a big distinction. Just like I don't mind those pink ribbon patches in the NFL. I would be upset if I saw a Cancer Society Flag.
  7. I guess we'll see but that pitching staff can't take just 1 injury.
  8. I don't think the number of fans it costs them or doesn't cost them matters. Its about protocol. Flags at a MLB park should never be representative of any group, lobby, political party, charity or organization. A special patch-- sure. A scoreboard recognition-- sure. Even when the NFL puts the pink bows around their fields and have players and officials wear pink, there is still no Cancer Society Flags or a flag with the Breast Cancer logo on them. Banners or other forms of recognition are very different than flying a flag.
  9. At the beginning of the year I figured Boston or New York for last. I still believe that. Boston collapses never surprise me.
  10. Not this year but soon.
  11. 1 in 2000 people in the 1950s got cancer? Lmao!
  12. I wouldn't say that I hate him. I'd say that I don't have any use for him as an infielder. And if you're going to be that bad as a fielder, you'd better hit like crazy!
  13. I personally have little to no use for Bonifacio. The problem is that several NL clubs are interested in him. Atlanta, Philadelphia, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh have shown interest. Well if none of the teams are ready to trade, AA has to wait it out. The Phillies really jump out here. They need to wait a few weeks before selling or the fan base would snap. If Boni is the extra piece needed to close a deal, AA has to keep him for now.
  14. They are considered by many to be heavy favorites to land Utley.
  15. Oh God yes, especially seniors.
  16. Yes but remains a political civil rights flag. Sorry, it's just not appropriate for any group and I mean any group to have their flag displayed at a MLB game. There has to be a better way to show community support for Pride Day.
  17. People care. Call the Blue Jays tomorrow and ask how many complaint calls they've received over the years due to the Canadian Flag not being properly displayed higher than the US flag.
  18. End of the day, the Pride Flag is representative not of Gay Pride but is in actuality a political flag that represents a civil rights group. It seems that people either don't realize that or have forgotten.
  19. One would think that a scoreboard message in recognition of Pride Day would be enough. Maybe have a prominent member of their gay community throw out the first pitch. Flags in the ballpark should be for the two host nations of MLB. Additional flags should be limited to team flags and flags of the host State and city. This descision is a poor one. Is it now ok to fly a Shriners Flag on a Shriners Day? How a about a Republican Party Flag on Republicans Night? How about a Conservative Party of Canada Flag? An NAACP Flag on Martin Luther King Day during Spring Training? Slippery slope!
  20. Immediately Schierholtz and Davis could go into a platoon in LF. Nate would be an obvious #2 hitter behind Reyes and ahead of Bautista.
  21. Been beating this drum for days. Nate is available. A bigger deal to get he and Garza is not a fantasy. It's realistic. Schierholtz would allow Melky to DH or rest.
  22. Everyone can just stop looking at Thole's 2012 numbers. He played most of the season more injured than Melky currently is. Thole is a singles/ doubles hitter who takes walks but ONLY v RHP. He can't hit a lefty to save his life. Well he hit them at Buffalo but that's a new and surprising thing and it isn't the Majors. Just look at his career splits and ignore last year!
  23. Nice sample size. Thole needs to get regular at bats to get going. He's already proved that he is a good MLB hitter v RHP.
  24. I also don't expect Lawrie back until after the break. Considering his injuries, his shortened ST and his poor production, I figure that he does the entire 20 days of rehab.
  25. I would figure Bonifascio has more trade value. Scary huh? Rajai is a free agent after the season and considering the CF market, even a LF with speed like Davis is going to be shopped as a center fielder. I think that we are all going to be floored at the money he gets too. He has a big overpay contract heading his way.
