  1. Do Synergaard strikeouts instead, he's at 3 k's through 3 innings.
  2. Could have been. Never worry about a premier slugger after a few weeks in the colder weather, that's knee jerk 101.
  3. I'm not sure how much his body language matters but it is true that the manager helps set the tone. If you look at 2013 the Jays were fundamentally terrible and that could have had something to do with Gibbons' "hands off" approach. While you might be acting a bit ridiculous suggesting his body language is hurting the team there is something to be said about how a manager acts in the dugout and towards his players.
  4. To be fair, his curveball did look very sharp. He didn't pitch as poorly as his xFIP or whatever suggests.
  5. The Jays have some of the worst fans and it's not even debatable.
  6. I would say Kershaw cruises through most of his starts.
  7. Don't think so. At least he can lay a bunt down and showed a decent defensive swing earlier in the game. Goins is 100% useless.
  8. Goins should hit 9th regardless of who else is in the lineup.
  9. Pineda is a stud, too bad the Jays don't have anybody as good as him.
  10. Anyone else finding this game extremely boring? No big hits, not a lot of strikeouts, dead crowd, awful colour commentary...
  11. The guy who raked for a month in Minnesota last year.
  12. Joe Siddall being his extremely boring self. It's a baseball game not lullaby time.
  13. Seems like this is why they brought those guys up. It was shortsighted but they are trying to do everything they can to win and West was low on their depth chart, whether people agree or disagree with that is another question. I wonder how much the cash is but hopefully it adds a small amount of payroll flexibility and doesn't go right into Rogers' pockets.
  14. You make good points but I would say the pen is still a weakness right now and could have easily been patched up if they had a bit of cash. Like you're saying clearly the rotation is really bad right now, Norris isn't ready and Hutch is the same inconsistent (maybe worse?) pitcher that he was last year. Sanchez has a 1.05 K/BB FFS and some people think he's been pitching well. How the hell do the Jays have 3 premier sluggers on affordable contracts and still have a hard time competing? Small sample but all signs point to it being another mediocre year IMO.
  15. Right, only -1 WAR to the average team or whatever you guys think. But honestly their pen is really garbage, and everyone knew this. It's not too hard to add some respectable guys but instead they went with two 20 year olds out of the gate, embarrassing in my opinion.
