  1. Indians designated Marcum. Now will the Jays take a chance on him? Doubt it, but he could still be an OK 5th starter.
  2. What did you guys come up with when considering if optimal lineup might not be the same thing as maximizing your odds of getting above 50th (for the 50/50s)? Off the top of my head, it seems like that could be a problem. Maybe I missed this earlier in the thread?
  3. I've been doing alright in Fanduel but way too early to tell. I know the price adjusts but I've just tried to make sure all my players make at least a bit of sense. FWIW I found hockey not that difficult if you put the time in to make your lineup. With 50/50s you are bound to have some clueless entrants so the odds aren't too bad IMO.
  4. Yeah that's not quite the same thing. Smoak was a fringe player from day 1.
  5. Really small sample size, but he looks awful at the plate. I think they give him until mid May, or that's my guess anyways.
  6. Is it too early for a DFA Smoak thread? There's a reason why he could only get 1 million in free agency.
  7. lol. It was a funny segment and a work for sure.
  8. Yep. He seems good so far. Can't hate on him for steroids, unless you're Roy Halladay.
  9. Cool good to hear. Thanks.
  10. Can anyone who watched some of the Reds game tell me how Iglesias looked today?
  11. Totally agree. As soon as anyone posts something negative they get called a troll unless it's in line with popular opinion (i.e. fangraphs). Do some people want this to be the rose coloured glasses forum? Seems like it.
  12. I accidentally rostered Gattis and homered on 3 Jays but Fowler carrying me.
  13. I'm not saying that. He's pitching horribly. He hasn't been unlucky.
  14. 4.2 ip, 4 r, 6 h, 3 k, 3 bb
  15. Thanks. TB should be lower but otherwise seems ok. I'd probably say Boston/TB lower and the other 3 a little higher.
  16. They're also just projections based on minor league numbers...
  17. I didn't read every post I just noticed some posters called you out on him being below average. It depends what you mean by average. Brett Anderson might be a better pitcher than Dickey but he is made of glass so how do you rank that? I wasn't talking about cost, but Dickey at 13 million is a very reasonable contract and it's questionable to assume they could get a significant upgrade for those savings. What I meant was this year, Dickey is a better pitcher to have than Syndergaard. I still don't see how you can argue otherwise... once again people on this forum are overrating the immediate impact of prospects.
  18. Dickey is about an average starter I think a few people have got you on that already. But basically, what exactly would you be expecting from Syndergaard this year? Is he really going to be much better than Dickey right away? Plus he's not pitching anywhere close to 220 innings.
