  1. He's actually pretty close on the family tree, oddly enough.
  2. Never expected to really actively post, but since I have I figured it would be a good idea to not have my name plastered on a message board. Dumn idea is dumn.
  3. So accurate, yet so disappointing.
  4. Haha come on King, aren't you from Manitoba?
  5. I understand the math behind it all. My point was that someone with more knowledge than me could probably make a relevant point and an arguement about age, Donaldson having already peaked, Stras not having peaked yet, etc.
  6. Great point. A good f***ing move is right. Following your logic, I would have to agree. It's probably not as simple as that, but your point still stands. AA made a great move to acquire an elite talent.
  7. Is there any evidence of this being Toronto's doing? I'm genuinely unaware of it if there is.
  8. It's going to be hilarious when DD finds a way himself to get out of this abortion of a situation, and the O's hire Kevin Towers.
  9. Good thing "Orioles" is here to protect the integrity of the org.
  10. Is there (or has this point ever been reached) a point in forecasting, where the market becomes stagnant and player salaries don't continue to rise at the same rate as inflation? I'm not very economically savvy beyond basics. What kind of impact does the price of oil have on the MLB? I've been reading about the possibility of economic collapses in the US due to this. I'd be interested in hearing from someone who has a background or a good idea of this type of thing.
  11. Such a childish mindset. You just replied to a post that essentially proved your rationale as incorrect, with the logic of a 5 year old.
  12. O's fans must really be pissed.
  13. There's no doubt Shields makes this club better. But if his price drops to 4/80 there is going to be a whole bunch of teams in on him. Teams like Miami, San Fran, St. Louis, Red Sox and the Yankees all probably become suitors in this situation.
  14. Isn't merchandise split throughout the league, making that part of all this irrelevant?
  15. Just paranoia. You don't have to worry about the Jays losing someone as exciting as the Stro Show!
  16. Projecting rotations in advance is nearly impossible, you're right.
  17. I think this would surprise virtually the entire industry.
  18. That's probably too pessimistic, compared to mine which may be overly optimistic. If we met in the middle, that is still the makings of a cheap, young, effective and controllable rotation. I'd rather the Jays grow their own pitching, supplementing it with bats through FA or trade. Not many marquee arms lining up to sign in Toronto.
  19. I can agree with this. I've just always had the impression that it would be Jose OR Edwin past 2016 (probably Jose), not both. Although it's not ideal, I'm sure the Jays would rather be in a situation where they're looking to add impact hitters through FA, and not impact SP. By 2017 you hope one of Hoffman or Osuna have established themselves as legitimate supplement options to the rotation, which consists of Stroman, Norris, Hutch and + +
  20. Semantics, I guess. Whether it's AA or not, I don't expect both to be here past 2016.
  21. It's far more likely that they just let one of them walk. They will be planning on competing in 2016 as well, and dealing one of their star sluggers sends a bad message (even if it's the right call) to fans, and even ill informed players.
  22. You can, but it really doesn't make much sense, especially when one is James Shields. Yes one of Bau/EE will probably walk. But the difference between 100M being on the books like you're saying and the more likely 60M is quite significant.
  23. Do you guys really expect AA to lock up both Edwin and Bautista past 2016 to 20M+ per year? There's just no feasible way that happens (without a massive payroll increase).
  24. Lol come on BTS. You can't sit here and say the 2017 payroll is looking brutal, then quote 3 contracts that aren't even signed.
