  1. I'd be happy if Biggio was just a useful player. .230/.320 with a bit of pop and some defensive use. He doesn't have to be back Team sorely needs a lefty who can provide a good at bat I want them to throw him in CF see what happens
  2. He might be able to play SS a bit but you never see scouts project him as a shortstop. It's always 3B.
  3. Add to Groshans and shoot for Staumont and Benintendi
  4. Yeah they have a mediocre little pitching pipeline now. They aren't a complete pushover team. Rutschman being up will make a big difference once he gets going. In a couple of years there will probably be 2 of Kremer, Akin, Baumann, Wells, Bradish, etc. who turn into really good pitchers.
  5. If Pearson could somehow get built up to just being a ~4 inning pitcher it would or could be a big deal. Pearson for 60 pitches then the bullpen >>>> any depth SP they have
  6. Yeah I dunno. It's not phenomenal. Nick Allgeyer, Trent Palmer in an emergency. Couple s***** guys at AAA like Bowden Francis. I think they are more likely to just piggy back two guys like Pearson and Thornton before giving any of these other sacks of potatoes an extended shot. So: Manoah Gausman Berrios Stripling Kikuchi Ryu (ouch) Pearson + partner AAA/AA guys Maybe they make another Stripling style trade and bring in a good swing man?
  7. Stowers might be okay watch him hit a bunch of dongs
  8. It's funny, other than Judge none of their hitters are having a truly great season. Most of them are just doing okay to good and are on pace for like 1.5 to 3.5 WAR, with the exception of Gallo and Hicks who suck. I think their rotation is a little bit flimsy. Cortes and Taillon have to be getting lucky. Same perhaps for Montgomery. Lots of injury risk across these guys too. If we face them in the playoffs it's a coinflip IMO. Toronto has good enough arms if the SPs are healthy. Gausman-Manoah-Berrios can go toe to toe with their top 3.
  9. Checked in on Kendall Williams - good numbers. In A+ now. But he only got an HM on the Dodgers top prospect list with Fangraphs, which was done one month ago. Depth Starters Jerming Rosario, RHP Braydon Fisher, RHP Jimmy Lewis, RHP Kendall Williams, RHP Rosario sits in the low-90s, will creep into the mid-90s, and has a bevy of decent secondaries. He’s only 20 but isn’t all that projectable and he hasn’t sustained the advanced command he showed on the back fields. Fisher’s stuff has been all over the place, while Lewis’ and Williams’ were both down, with their fastballs hovering around 90 mph in our most recent looks at them.
  10. Probably. Just getting him some reps in case injuries happen?
  11. Corey Dickerson In 2019 their WAR leaders were Biggio, Galvis (switch) and Sogard lolll I guess Smoak fit the role as a switch hitter for a few seasons But yeah if you want a LHB who was here for a few years and looked something like a middle of the order hitter.... Since Delgado left the only real options are like.... Lind, Overbay, and Rasmus?????
  12. pretty sad developmental story he must have gotten lost mentally while trying to make adjustments or maybe an earlier than normal physical decline perhaps from the baseball hitting him in the face that time. knocked the talent right out of him
  13. sometimes they do that with chronic / nagging stuff if doctor #1 couldn't find a clear diagnosis
  14. Yeah this isn't like giving Derek Fisher playing time. Speaking of Fish, he is hitting .158/.259/.305 in AAA this year after .205/.271/.308 the year prior. woof.
  15. Both depend on which season you look at
  16. I'm not comparing them directly but the point is that the total depth and roster construction in 2022 is just so much better than the 2015/2016 teams Toronto right now has a couple of MLB players who are annoying and underperforming (Tapia and Zimmer) but that's.... kind of it. There is good position coverage in most ways and MiLB depth is pretty good for most areas. There are even top prospects who can get called up like Groshans and Moreno. The 2015/2016 teams had, I think, more nothing players and worse positional coverage and much worse organizational depth to reach into. Goins, Thole, Colabello, BJ Upton, Junior Lake, Zeek.... I can't even remember all the s*** bags.
  17. these things tend to sort themselves out anyway
  18. Yeah I guess it's Ryu vs. Kikuchi when/if Ryu returns Stripling is the clear #4 at this point in time
  19. Errrr How about just a vintage Stanton injury and maybe some random monkeypox cases
  20. Well, not really for the home run part. He had fringe power always so maybe if the baseball is depressed he's just a doubles hitter for the most part. That's fine though.
  21. It's literally the best roster construction I have seen during my life, by Toronto. All of the JPR teams were failed structures The 2015 and 2016 and 2017 teams were all way too thin and always two injuries from disaster. Ryan Goins LMFAO. I'm assuming 92 and 93 were well built but I was a baby so don't remember
  22. If you are mad about Tapia playing too much the things to criticize are: Springer too many days off from CF? Biggio should be a full-time OF from day 1? f*** Teoscar for getting hurt? f*** Gurriel for being s*****? Or of course "Toronto should have been way more aggressive in their pursuit of a 4th OF"
