Compare this "annoying" start to their mediocre 2021 start.... in 2021 in the first 31 games they: - lost a series to Texas - lost a series to the Angels - lost 3 out of 4 to the Royals - split a 2 gamer with the Nationals - split a 4 game series with Oakland In 2022 the only real series-level fumble they've had is Cleveland. It's that + a couple of tough series against the Yankees including two one run losses. Looks so much better if you look at it series by series.

But who is replacing them? I could see Zimmer cut loose once Biggio is back, then Biggio hopefully hitting enough to take corner outfield playing time away from Tapia.

Toronto was the 2nd best offense in baseball last year 14th coming into this game Massively underperforming And that's just wRC+; it's not factoring in the situational hitting. If you look at runs they are 16th. Sad.

If he did this last year it would = performing as hoped But after the lost 2021 I think this qualifies as exceeding expectations so far

The thing with Yankee Stadium is that it's just kind of sad and pathetic So they had this vintage stadium people liked, lots of history, but it had a joke of a short porch They build a new, modern stadium and MLB somehow bent over and let them keep the joke of a short porch even though new stadiums have to fit certain parameters. Special treatment. Now they have a s***** new stadium nobody cares about and they don't even get full attendance because of ticket pricing and s***. They have basically debased the new stadium by rolling the joke dimensions over. They could have build something original, inspiring, and creative, but instead they build the same piece of s*** across the road. lmao.

I dunno Baseball is a technical sport with small margins for error/success It has a long history of f***ery Mound changes, wilful blindness with steroid use, spitballs, wonky stadiums, the list goes on and on really, the ball probably went through massive changes in prior decades but we just didn't have the data to know

The balls were mixed in 2021. Some of the new 2022 balls were in circulation but as far as I understand, many were the gopher balls still.
