  1. Yeah and there are already signs of adjustment. April: 24 Ks in 17 games May: 17 Ks in 16 games One K per game is like, nothing in this year of our Lord two thousand and twenty two
  2. lol that was quick wen -0.5 ?
  3. They are of course underperforming, I am not disputing that, but it does not make any sense to thing of the average age of the team. You need to place every specific player in the appropriate bucket. Think of the extreme example. Player A is 20 and Player B is 34. The team has an average age of 27. Does that team have the same performance variance as a team with all 27 year olds?
  4. Well the most important players are really not peak (27-28). Jansen and Espinal are in there. Tapia is but he's not important. Teoscar and Chapman are, I guess, slightly past their best before dates since they are 29. Springer is way post-peak. Kirk, Vlad, and Bo still have a few years before their physical peaks.
  5. Charlie is annoying but not really THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM is the offense. Player performance. Maybe you can scapegoat the hitting coach and the manager but really it's on the players. Last night with Borucki... well Richard, Merryweather, and Cimber were spent already. Phelps was 17 pitches after throwing 21 pitches the day before, so I can see why they wanted to yank him before possibly ruining him. Bad for RP to throw too many pitches back to back. Romano had saves Friday Saturday and just returned from an illness so I can understand preference for him to have two days off. Yimi Garcia blew it the day before and sucks. Borucki shouldn't really be on the team IMO. He's a nightmare and shows no signs of figuring it out.
  6. So the Yankees play all their Baltimore games pre Adley while the Blue Jays get the opposite. Hilarious
  7. Zimmer is breaking out. He won the game for us last night on his own. Basically, he has won more games for Toronto than most other hitters now.
  8. Well the dumb orgs don't get it
  9. He has power. Not super worried about him being a slap hitter or anything.
  10. Great job missing the thread JFD
  11. Bo got jammed, it only looked like good contact from the tv angle. I think.
  12. My disappointment cannot be measured Strickland is pure BP and they let him off the hook
  13. Zimmer breakout imminent He was just pressing
  14. This guy f***ing sucks
  15. Ew Borucki
  16. He's not doing great
  17. She would need a trick pitch. There are MLB players who throw poo but have a trick pitch or insane command. I guess in theory a woman could become one of those. But getting the playing experience to shape that type of career is tough. Like, the MLB knuckleballer grows up as a traditional pitcher until he blows his arm out, after getting drafted. The guy throwing 81 and somehow getting outs probably used to throw 90. etc.
  18. this lady has a .400 OBP what if she's a scrappy little HBP machine who has a good eye and gets on base all the time and can also eat up an inning or two if your already getting blown out and your bullpen is depleted give her a chance! you bigots
  19. Burnes and Devers, not close Like take Devers out and that's closer to fair
  20. I bet she could strike both of you out. She's being given a chance based on grit and mental characteristics, which are probably off the charts. The article even has a quote "if she can't cut it she'll probably be the first to acknowledge it" so it's implied that if she clearly can't hang the relationship will end. dorks
  21. He got like a 2 WAR bump from Fangraphs' fielding changes, for 2021. He hit .230 with mediocre production numbers and is currently hitting .240... I can understand why people thought he disappointed last year and currently think he is not playing like a star. They wanted the .280/30/20 gold glove SS, 6-7 WAR dude
  22. Jays are hit tool maxis now, that doesn't sound like someone they would love
  23. I like a half dozen of your prospects and several of your young roster players
  24. Yeah the low walk rate has always made him seem kind of icky in this league but it really looks like he's a true talent .320 hitter, which is pretty crazy
