  1. but they need Mr. Manfred to like them for various other reasons
  2. Red Sox DFA Connor Seabold with an option remaining surprising / stupid decision
  3. Belt has had surgery on his right knee three times. 2015 minor meniscus tear repair 2018 "major microfracture surgery to stimulate cartilage growth" 2022 "Sept. 3 surgery to clean out cartilage and scar tissue" The 2022 surgery does not sound "major" but of course with his age and repeated problems I would not exactly expect a fully healthy Brandon Belt. He will have chronic issues in this knee forever, I think.
  4. nah I had it saved and pickled thanks mom
  5. they aren't done. still have one obvious demotion on the projected 25 man roster (Lukes) a couple trade candidates on the 25 man (Biggio, Richards) and some 40 man guys who are DFA candidates (Thornton, Gage, Hatch)
  6. it's just a doodle the actual final dimensions probably depend somewhat on how the construction goes and where they need to put support pillars etc.
  7. No s***, Olerud is one of the smarter posters on the board. He just writes like an old fart who has all the time in the world which might be true.
  8. no, I got my foreskin reattached
  9. Red Sox seems to be completely mishandling Houck and Whitlock. Jerking both of them around between the bullpen and rotation, in different directions.
  10. we don't have numbers or anything but looks like it will be a bit deeper right down the lines and maybe in RCF LCF but also a bit closer where the bullpens push in but from all the stories, the big change will be the reduction in foul territory next year as all the infield seats come in. that will be when the general offensive park factor trends up the most.
  11. right right kinks
  12. the fences aren't really moving in or out IIRC the seats are moving down to meet the fences and the height of the fence is becoming irregular
  13. Yeah but Fenway always has the geographic argument. It had to be shaped like that because of where it is. The Yankees only had that argument in the old stadium. When MLB let them copy the dimensions for their new ballpark, it really ruined the short porch. Made it something commercial.
  14. Well, Baltimore just moved the fences back. I think for the most part the tweaks are happening as teams seek more neutral park factors. Nobody really likes extreme ballparks anymore. For the Jays, it has nothing to do with the game though and everything to do with the fan experience and making the ballpark better. Baltimore might have overdone it though, lmao. I remember that ball Merrifield crushed there late in the year that died on the track. I could not believe it.
  15. fence adjustments are all the rage these days
  16. basically, CF fence is coming in 10 feet and the fence in centre and right field is being reduced to 7 feet high everywhere probably not a massive change but it turns their CF-RCF from something stupid to something normal. Maybe a few extra HR for Riley Greene and Torkelson now.
  17. I embezzled the payment
  18. I vote better but I think it's a push. They do lose a bit on the sticks by swapping out Teo. Also, like him or not Tapia is probably a slightly better hitter than Kiermaier. But I think Vlad has a better year and negates all that. Also, baserunning should be a lot better. I also like Merrifield to be a league average hitter.
  19. Probably signed him to an MiLB deal because of this tweet, self-advertising
  20. They cut Merryweather? This will be my last post. I will no longer be a fan. Goodbye forever.
  21. Love the trade but Thompson is behind Kikuchi and White.
  22. Use your brain Guys like Thompson are in fact harder to find than guys like Fernandez
  23. Really nice deal Zach Thompson is a great depth P
  24. That’s insane. I wonder if he has opt outs and stuff. The medical concerns must be legitimate. Very concerning
  25. They've probably just decided to go over this year. What matters is what your luxury tax payroll is at the end of the season. So no real sense in getting just under the threshold now... then you can't even make any deadline acquisitions.
