  1. Blue Jays Promote Daniel Norris By Mark Polishuk [september 1, 2014 at 9:58am CDT] The September roster expansions mean that some of baseball’s most notable prospects will be called up to the big leagues for the first time. Here are some of the familiar names from various prospect rankings (from MLB.com, Baseball America and ESPN’s Keith Law) who will soon debut in the Show… The Blue Jays will promote left-hander Daniel Norris, Sportsnet.ca’s Shi Davidi reports. Norris, 21, was a second-round pick in the 2011 draft who began this season at high-A ball but pitched well enough to earn promotions to both Double-A and Triple-A. The southpaw has a 2.53 ERA, 11.8 K/9 and 3.79 K/BB rate over a combined 124 2/3 IP at all three farm levels in 2014. Norris, who was ranked 25th by Baseball America and 28th by MLB.com, is expected to begin his Major League career pitching out of the Jays’ bullpen.
  2. What am I missing. Mayberry sucks, does he not?
  3. Yes I know, I just totally forgot about him failing. Thank you again.
  4. Oh, I didn't know he'd fail as a starter yet. Thanks for sharing this and yeah I guess you're right, since he is going to for sure fail we should leave him in the pen.
  5. Why would we waste our sAAviour as a closer? Starter!
  6. TSN.ca: What's happening? DICKEY: Yeah. I think it's hard to identify. I think some of it's probably the nature of the game. You know, it's such a streaky game. I've said that for a long time and we haven't been able to arrest, for whatever reason, we haven't been able to arrest the downward spiral that we've been in presently. That's some of it. Some of it's that we haven't been pitching as well - I'm talking about myself - as well as I'm capable of pitching. We haven't been playing very fundamental baseball recently. A lot of those things add up to you being in a place where you don't enjoy the result. We've still got a little over a month left and anything's possible. What? Shut up Dickey. Arrest the downward spiral? What?
  7. Yeah, I wish I could pick a new team. Love hurts.
  8. @ShiDavidi: John Gibbons: "There are people out in the baseball world that don’t think RBIs are important. Well (1-for-17 with RISP) … those are RBIs." @BennisSnet: LRT: NOBODY THINKS SCORING RUNS ISN'T IMPORTANT! Hahahahaha, my appreciation for Gibbons is gone. 1st move of the off season, fire the f***in clown.
  9. That flu and the trade deadline finished his career.
  10. Half a game out of a top 15 pick. But it won't be protected, so I guess we won't sign any free agents this year for once.
  11. Qualifying offer for janssen, Casey janssen..hahahaha nice one!
  12. I still have faith in AA, I still have faith in AA, I still.....awe f*** it, someone change my profile or delete me from existence please. Mods, anyone?
  13. I for one am shocked that a team led by a whiney ass bitch like Bautista would whine about this and fold up shop.
  14. Usually who cares about errors, but when you have absolutely no range to go with 16 errors then you are a s***** player. Baseball teaches you new things all the time, and this year and last have reminded me how important defence is. I would drop Reyes for nothing right now but salary relief. I'm sure someone will s*** on me for that and bring up his WAR to show he is still a decent player. I'm too lazy to give a f*** about this team to look at his numbers, the only thing I know is he is hitting about .290, almost all singles and shockingly bad defence. 22mil next year is going to hurt, I'd pay Goins 500k to hit .229 and play solid D at short instead.
  15. I see a problem with this, why rush him? But what the f*** do I know.
  16. Maybe. Let's say your Cashman and you know machado just got injured and u have no idea if the O's can get a deal done or not, you just let him pass through and hope a team your chasing doesn't try to get better. Yanks and Os might be a bad example cause the yanks can't catch them most likely, t why would teams risk it.
  17. Yeah i understand it's not a big deal, but how does say belter pass through waivers?
  18. @JonHeymanCBS: darvish, beltre, choo and andrus clear waivers. cotts in system now. (the lhp could help contender) http://t.co/4DLC28LDst This might have been posted somewhere already....but what the f***!
  19. I think he'll get $4.5/yr minimum, and I love him, but would not bring him back either. Maybe, possibly for 1 year at 4.5 million, no way I go 2 years and a qualifying offer is insanity.
  20. There was a stupid post to Wilner today about being embarrassed to be a jays fan and for me it hit home, year after year this is embarrassing, but especially this year when the East is up for grabs and last year when we talked so much s*** after the off season. Probably a pointless post, but are you embarrassed? I just realized I am and I'm looking for redemption after being a fan so long and seeing no results. At least we made it to August this year I guess, that's something.
  21. I agree, any or all of the 3 could fall to tommy john next year which will be our convenient excuse for missing the playoffs.
  22. 9 pages for a game day thread, looks like slowly but surely the fans just don't give a f*** anymore.
