  1. Dickey as a #4 innings eater with his salary is actually quite valuable and I'd want him on my team, I just wish he didn't come with josh Thole. A rotation of: New ace Stroman Hutchison Dickey Sanchez Norris Nolin Looks quite good to me.
  2. Where is Sanchez in that payroll? Not that his 500k makes any difference. AAA? Traded. I know a lot of you have written him off but he is one of the 8-10 starting pitchers we will need in my mind and he starts before Norris does. His biggest issue (control) has not shown up yet.
  3. @JimBowden_ESPN: The Royals have acquired Josh Willingham from the Twins for pitcher Jason Adam according to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN I click on the tweet, then copy it, then paste it. Seems to work.
  4. As a west coast jays fan I'm not only sad I'm not going to seattle but I'm ashamed.
  5. Don't worry, we're facing scherzer, price and Hernandez next...I'm sure our team will find a way to win. From 5 game division lead to out of the wild card race, another successful season. My heart hurts.
  6. Chris Davis makes sense.
  7. How about a thread to list players the jays should have claimed but clearly won't because Rogers decided to cheap out when it mattered most: Josh Beckett, Dodgers — Owed a much more reasonable $4.73MM (as of Aug. 5), Beckett is a more desirable commodity for interested parties. However, he’s currently occupying a slot in L.A.’s rotation, and he’s produced a surprisingly excellent 2.88 ERA with 8.3 K/9 and 3.0 BB/9 in 112 innings this season. The contending Dodgers don’t seem likely to deal from their rotation depth. The loss of Paul Maholm to a torn ACL has already weakened their rotation depth. I'm certainly not a fan of Beckett but for 4.73 mil he could have helped....not that the dodgers would have let him go, but at least claim and try.
  8. I'm sorry g-snarls, can't find that vent thread.... “With us losing today, it doesn’t mean our season is over,” said starter Mark Buehrle. “If somebody thought we were going to sweep these guys, you’re on some good drugs because that’s not going to happen. They’re in first place for a reason. Look, come in, hopefully play better these next two games, take two of three and we’ll be happy with it and move on.” Shut up fatty mcf***f***. The O's will likely sweep us and I doubt they went into the series hoping to maybe win one or two games. Then check out these starters were coming up against according to sportsnet:Wei-Yin Chen, Miguel Gonzalez, Anibal Sanchez, Max Scherzer, David Price, Chris Young, Roenis Elias and Hisashi Iwakuma. I'd say we can beat Gonzalez but then again bud f***ing Norris owns us. And this from gibbons who now I'm all on board for firing: We are kind of an extreme type team,” said Gibbons, “but that’s our ball club, we are what we are.” We are what we are, can't do anything about it but sit back and hope for the best.
  9. I've tried to stay calm, I've tried to stay positive, I've supported AA and Gibbons through thick and thin...but I can't hold on any longer, I hate this f***ing team in a way only a man who loves them with all his heart can hate them. I'm tired of this s***, I'm tired of ignoring trolls talking about how we'll be in 4th place before you know it but deep down knowing their right. I'm so tired of predicting Francisco will strike out on a curveball yet he's too dumb to figure out it's coming, that our fat f***ing catcher will hit into a double play. I'm f***ing so mad. Was so excited for this game and fat f***ing Buerhle comes out and drops a steaming s*** on the mound. f*** f*** f***!!!
  10. I like Reyes, although I'd trade him off for nothing but salary relief at this point....and this point is totally invalid towards anything but is it just me or does he set your gaydar off?
  11. The point that hurts in that, is with our record it will be tough to claim guys as they'll already have been claimed....and the team right behind us in standings has the financial ability to claim guys (like a cole hamels for instance) just to block him from getting to us.
  12. True, but our bench is overflowing and we still got guys in the minors, not much but some. Now, our starting pitching depth is an area that scares me.
  13. A lot of s*** was talked about AA's ability to build depth. I think our bench is a team strength.
  14. Cespedes maybe...didn't see that coming.
  15. @JeffPassan: Source: Jon Lester has been traded. How can this get tweeted and twitter not explode yet....
  16. Sabathia is likely close to done and tanaka very well might not pitch again until next August/sept. The rays could be financially screwed if they don't trade price and his approx $20 mil salary next year, very well could be a fire sale this winter in Tampa.
  17. The games against the O's coming up are going to be the most stressful baseball I've watched in 20 years.
  18. I've gone from checking twitter every 20 minutes to every minute with the Lester not pitching news. When jays start getting serious mention in rumours I'll be at every 20 seconds. LOVE trade deadline. 31st is one of best days off the year.
  19. AA has to be hoping guys like Rogers and first Santos get claimed to free up some cash for a trade he is likely working on. I'm guessing every penny counts right now, even deck McGuire cash. f***in Rogers (corp not pitcher) could at least spring for 5 mil you would think since we're in the race for the first time in 20 years.
  20. A starting pitcher is our best bet. We could then move hutch to pen and he would be solid 1 inning at a time, so a starter would improve the team in two ways. Next year hutch can start again. Him and dirty Sanchez could be huge additions to the pen for this year. Maybe drabek as well.
  21. With the guys we got coming back from injuries, and our best pitcher Stroman going to run out of innings soon, and hutch running into a bit of a wall, I think I agree in acquiring a starting pitcher.
  22. I guess I should have mentioned, if we get swept we could be 1 game out of last place.
  23. I had to read that twice to see if you seriously suggested bringing back buck f***ing Martinez. I love gibby but I think sending a message right now wouldn't hurt and cut him loose, but buck f***ing Martinez???
