To be clear, I don't think either should have been traded. I wouldn't have traded either. I just think the idea that they would have declined a trade to be absurd.

That's silly. They both had significant financial incentive for accepting a trade, possibly as much as $10+M. Rejecting a trade would have been incredibly stupid.

There's really no downside to having the DL+ though, as long as your league comes with weekly transaction limits. At least give the option.

Deliberately decreasing your run expectancy isn't going to help with whatever run scoring problems they may or may not have.

Why was it mocked? Shapiro and Atkins clearly think highly of him, and if there's a way to make it happen I'm sure they'd like to have him.
