  1. What? Their playoffs odds were higher three weeks ago than they are now. I feel like the point you're trying to make is not well-conceived.
  2. Saunders lays down a sac bunt with a runner on 2nd and nobody out in the first inning and the GDT rejoices. This forum is awful.
  3. Deliberately decreasing your run expectancy isn't going to help with whatever run scoring problems they may or may not have.
  4. Did Saunders just intentionally sacrifice a runner from 2nd to 3rd?
  5. Why was it mocked? Shapiro and Atkins clearly think highly of him, and if there's a way to make it happen I'm sure they'd like to have him.
  6. Nah, it's the right move for everyone once or twice a year.
  7. Wait, WTF was Steven Wright doing on waivers?
  8. Dinger ragequit in 3...2...1...
  9. I actually don't care either way. I'm just questioning the assertion that this is something that's ben happening with any kind of regularity.
  10. I've also never been asked (to my recollection). Unless njh, north, or Boxy is processing a ton of these I have serious doubts that this happens anywhere near as often as KK seems to think it does (or at all).
  11. I think it's been done like 2-3 times. And only when the team wanted to promote someone because of a trade or cut down and didn't have any moves left. I don't remember it ever being done because a team just didn't want to use an add. Am I completely out to lunch here?
  12. Yeah, there's 0 chance he goes to the minors for an extended stretch. Any potential gains are ruined by the lack of goodwill that would result from rewarding your lights out closer of two years with a 90% pay cut, a stalled service time clock, and return to the terrible MiLB lifestyle. He'd throw a fit. The MLBPA would throw a fit. His teammates would throw a fit. The fans would throw a fit. And it would all be justified.
  13. I'm pretty sure Osuna never starts a game. He's already burned through two full years of team control, and it's far from guaranteed that 150 innings of starter Osuna is more valuable than 60 innings of relief Osuna, or that he can get to 150 innings and stay healthy.
  14. Aww, the non-playoff riff raff is upset that they can't snatch up the castoffs from teams trying to win
  15. Yeah, that's one. Seasons of 2 and 2.9 fWAR for Sandoval, then signed for 5/95 entering his age-28 season.
  16. Well there are no weekly add limits in LOD because the waiver wire consists of shitbag relievers and Ezequiel Carreras.
  17. Good to know. I don't remember anything about this.
  18. I don't think you'd be saying that if Upton were a year younger and finishing up another 3.5-4 WAR season.
  19. You have what me and that beautiful bearded bastard Keuchel had last year. Then he lost a tick on his fastball and his shoulder exploded.
  20. You missed my point, which was that Tulo now is not a consistent 5-win player.
  21. Nats maybe. Gregorius is probably better than Tulo. Sox are happy with Anderson. Phillies won't block Crawford. Can Seattle add a $20M player? I guess it only takes one, but I just don't see teams lining up to give a 2-3 win shortstop 20M per year. It feels like the Gordon market last year.
  22. Is there a hitter recently who got $80+M coming of consecutive sub-3 win seasons? Probably, but I can't think of any.
