  1. This is how I use twitter. I'm following like 25 people (and somehow have 7 followers even though I've never made a tweet), but really I just use the search function if I want news about a specific player.
  2. Pretty good chance we get to do this all over again next week spittin.
  3. I don't think our Gruber knows what the Twitter is.
  4. I think it's fair to say that they're unlikely to hit the homeruns that come from being more aggressive than almost everyone else (Donaldson) but the other two were just gifts from the baseball gods.
  5. Hard to call it a great move when the guy they got in return blew up just as bad and the salaries were equal. It was a small-scale disaster for both teams, and both would have likely been better off with their own guy.
  6. I know that. The discussion stemmed from me saying this: "There was no reason to believe that either player was going to fall off a cliff. Although, I do believe that if both Revere and Storen played to their projections, Revere would have been more valuable to this team, and IMO that was obvious at the time." If Revere isn't traded, maybe he doesn't get hurt and has a typical Revere year.
  7. I meant as a 4th OF type. Carrera has been replacement-level over almost 300 PA and then there was the Junior Lake debacle, and there was always the option of DHing Bautista/Saunders if the team had a capable OF replacement. Pre-2016 Revere likely has 1-2 wins without taking playing time away from Saunders. I do think the situation has been corrected with Upton though.
  8. Yeah, there was nothing wrong with that move. There was no reason to believe that either player was going to fall off a cliff. Although, I do believe that if both Revere and Storen played to their projections, Revere would have been more valuable to this team, and IMO that was obvious at the time.
  9. Only two mistakes for me are the weird Hendriks trade, and being content with Carrera as the 4th OF going into the season. I loved the overall direction of the offseason: patch holes with short free agent deals and don't borrow more from the team's future.
  10. So Gibbons thinks Navarro is a better hitter than Justin Smoak?
  11. I traded Puig.
  12. Yeah. But the Dodgers won't let him go for nothing, and 2/14 isn't really prohibitive anyway.
  13. You'd think an NL contender would have made a claim even if not interested in acquiring him. He has elite skills and is capable of absolutely exploding over a short stretch. You'd think that if he got to the -playoff teams, someone would have made a claim to block their rivals.
  14. He's not high-end, but if he can go 315/430 with 20/70/70 he's a viable starter and top-300 player.
  15. The guy I specifically laughed at you for drafting. Not sure why he was dropped.
  16. Kind of surprised I won the Gregorius claim.
  17. A bag of balls would be a steal.
  18. “It’s not something I’m OK with. I’d rather quit and leave all the money on the table than play at a poor level,” Votto said before Sunday’s game against the Pirates. “I’m here to play and be part of setting a standard. It’s something I’ve always taken pride in. I love to play at a really high level. So far this year, it’s not been that. I will not be a very satisfied, happy person if I don’t perform at the level that I expect.” ... “I signed up for a high-level of performance. I didn’t sign up for this just to make money,” Votto said. “It’s great and I don’t take it for granted. I appreciate every dime that comes my way. I just care a great deal — desperately. I refuse to accept my peak has past, I refuse to accept that my best days are in the past. I’m not there yet. I just don’t see that, I don’t feel that.” I'm all for not reading into this stuff, but if you're going to, these comment seem only positive.
  19. North has a very small chance of making it. But really he's done.
  20. Do the Orioles Hangout folks still think Joey Rickard is a stud?
