  1. I sent the waiver draft lottery results to a bunch of owners: 1st pick: connorp 2.littlemoon 3. Ling34 4. Chubs 5. spittin
  2. Shopping Michael Brantley for a high end SP
  3. lol, who finally gave Barkerfan the timeout?
  4. Would, like, Alford and Giles have landed him?
  5. What a s***** return. Angels couldn’t top this?
  6. Kluber to Texas
  7. I’m not concerned about Ling. He’s joined on Fantrax. I am concerned about spittin and Littlemoon, neither of which have joined on Fantrax. The only others who haven’t joined are Chubs (but he’s L54’s brother and L54 would presumably know if he was out) and Mr. All Day.
  8. Meh. I don't really see it. It's still one of the very worst rotations in baseball, projected at 6.6 fWAR, ahead of only Baltimore. The only starter they have that Steamer projects for an ERA under 5 is... SRF? Adding Ryu might take their projection to a bit over 10 fWAR, but it's still bottom-10. If you're a contender looking at a WS, I see: - three guys who you'd be content to slot in as your 5th starter (Roark, Anderson, Thornton) - a guy that you'd like to see in your rotation, but that you're not counting on as a top-5 guy (Shoemaker) - a bunch optionable arms with back end ceilings and AAA floors that you have as depth in AAA (Kay, Borucki, Waguespack, Zeuch, SRF etc...) - Pearson, who's the only guy in at AAA or higher with front of rotation upside, and should be up as soon as he carves up a couple of AAA lineups
  9. I haven’t done it yet. Maybe today.

I don't think it was unreasonable at the time, but something should be done now that its not working out.

I have no idea. That's Dubas' job, and he should probably figure it ou.
  12. Nobody selling fringy pitching for fringy bats?

The Leafs are 15-8-3 when Andersen starts and 0-6-1 when they play a backup. It's insane to me that the team is flirting with letting an entire season to down in Flames because they can't acquire a capable NHL backup goalie.
  14. Damn, Steamer projecting Roark for a 5.16 ERA now
  15. I was wondering that too. The Rays seem like one of the worst destinations in the league for someone like Tsutsugo. They won’t use him in the OF ever, and already have Choi and Lowe at 1B
  16. They can send Choi over here.
  17. Eric Thames has been about on par with Smoak since coming back, and was a lot better this year. He's another option, especially given that there's not a clear internal candidate to be parked at DH 4-5 times a week. Losing Tsutsugo hurts though, because we haven't really added anyone with upside yet this offseason. We pretty much know exactly what we're getting in Anderson and Roark.
  18. It warms my heart to see the Red Sox scraping the barrel for Martin Perezes and Jose Perazas while looking at eating like 40M to shed David Price and possibly losing Mookie Betts to free agency and having a maybe-broken Chris Sale.
  19. I remember explicitly stating that I didn't want him back even though he was worth the money because I hated seeing him on the mound, so you are correct. Also, how dare you compare him to a gem like O'Day (and Laika to Buehrle for that matter). Those guys had the decency to at least pound the zone with their s***** stuff, and Buehrle was good for a crisp 2-hour game every once in a while. Dickey was a mess of full-counts, passed balls and wild pitches, and always managed to look utterly shocked when someone hit a sub-80 mph meatball 430 feet. He also has an annoying face. The whole package was of similar aesthetic caliber to watching CC Sabathia and his giant gut flopping all over the place. Very off-putting and unpleasant to watch.
  20. Dickey was good here. I think almost everyone here recognizes that. Watching his starts was terrible though. He very reliably put up 32 useful starts a year that nobody wanted to watch.
  21. Alex Wood coming in to throw 4-5 innings after Wilmer Font throws 2 would make me very happy.
  22. I would have voted for indifferent if I had included it as an option. Wouldn't be surprising if he gets destroyed in his first full year in the AL.
  23. Seems like the FO might have concerns about Jansen's bat. Reese McGuire isn't good enough to make someone like Jansen expendable if Jansen is hitting at even a league-average level, and the minor league catchers have a long road ahead to become MLB players. It would have to be a very good arm for me to move Jansen.
