  1. Damn, Braves give Will Smith 3/40
  2. Likley? Probbaly. I still think they can and should acquire two, as most of the depth guys have options remaining. New Guy New Guy Anderson Thornton Shoemaker BP - Font BP - Gaviglio AAA - Pearson AAA - Borucki AAA - Waguespack AAA - Kay AAA - Zeuch AAA - Mayweather Pannone/SRF/Murphy all moved to the bullpen full time.
  3. Teheran's Steamer projections are gnarly.
  4. I think Odorizzi is probably more of a reliable 2-3 win SP3 than a 4+ win starter going forward, but I'd be a lot happier with him than Teheran. Teheran's control has abandoned him as his fastball velo has dipped below 90, and is probably looking at a 1-year deal for like 5M or something. For Odorizzi, everything ticked up last year and he's projected for an ERA like a full run less than Teheran. If ends up signing for like 3/45 like most seem to be projecting, the pick compensation takes the value of the deal to something like 3/50, which is pretty reasonable for a pitcher who is a least average, and has displayed no real red flags.
  5. Looks promising, but still need butt pics to confirm significant weight loss.
  6. I think most people have a pretty good idea where the line is. I wouldn’t want a blanket ban on anything, because part of the forum’s appeal is that it’s loosely moderated. It’s just a bit much when you have one poster here everyday picking fights across multiple threads.
  7. I’ve given you 3 days for the ad hominem, and it’s going to escalate from there. Post respectfully, or don’t post.
  8. I'm going to start handing out bans for s*** like this. This forum has always been a bit of a cesspool, but it's been almost unreadable lately. Disagree with someone if you want to, but don't jump right to ad hominems. Boxy, I'm not talking specifically about you, but you're the worst offender. Nobody wants to read constant negativity.
  9. Well, Grandal might be a top two catcher in baseball and neither of McGuire or Maile are that.
  10. What if you get him for like 3/40 or something?
  11. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-locked-pitching-bats-also-offer-path-improvement/ Meh, it's something to talk about.
  12. Yeah, I thought so too. IIRC he signed last offseason for a 2M guarantee then maxed out another 8M of IP incentives. Thought he'd get around 8 guaranteed this year, especially after holding up for like 3 great starts in the playoffs.
  13. Waino back to St. Louis for another year. 5M guaranteed and 5M in incentives. I wonder if they’re just IP incentives.
  14. A bit surprised O’Day got a guaranteed 2.25M at 37 coming off a lost season

  16. Well I haven’t seen anyone suggest that they want Tellez off the 40-man while he still has an option year remaining, so I assumed he was suggesting he should be penciled in for an MLB job.
  17. I disagree with this. You can store intriguing players in AAA, or on the MLB bench if they’ve demonstrated MLB ability. Bautista and Encarnación were legit 25-man contributors before becoming stars. If you like Rowdy Tellez and think there’s more there? Bring him back for 560k or whatever and option him to AAA. If he rakes there, PAs will open up for him on the MLB team. But you shouldn’t go into an offseason penciling him in as your everyday D.H. and ignore the options that currently project better.
  18. Hard to tell. Still looks like a phat ass, but maybe a bit less so?
  19. Probably not much of anything.
  20. Need to see pics from behind to gauge whether he's lost weight.
  21. Baseball is not hockey.
  22. Man I love AJ Burnett. That FA signing worked out so well.
  23. I'd much rather take a gamble on Ryu than sign a workhorse type like Roark or Porcello. I get that Ryu is objectively better and will cost more, but the team has payroll space, and he's the kind of high variance SP that could help the team contend for a WC spot if a lot of the young bats push.
  24. Yeah. The depth is very good right now. A team with designs on winning would have something like: 3. Shoemaker 4. Anderson 5. Thornton BP - Font BP - Gaviglio AAA - Borucki AAA - Waguespack AAA - Kay AAA - Zeuch AAA - Merryweather AAA - Pearson AAA - SRF (probably in the pen full time) The team has enough depth right now to cut Pannone, commit to SRF and Hector Perez in the pen, and still have a full five-man rotation in AAA with legit MLB upside in 2020. If the team finds a way to add two starters better than any starter they currently have, the rotation would actually be talented and very robust.
