  1. I thought Tepera might be tendered and didn’t want him to be.
  2. Came in here to post about the Indians outrighting him. Very intriguing target.
  3. Is Fangraphs getting kickbacks for turning their site into a job board? Three job notices posted today alone.
  4. So is fielding a rotation of 4th and 5th starters. I have no problem with this trade, but I'll be pretty pissed if the current plan is for Anderson, Borucki, Thornton, and Shoemaker to be in the rotation come April. This move doesn't tell us anything about the plan for the offseason.
  5. Yeah. Chase Anderson is a nice piece of he's your 4th or 5th starter. But we have four of those guys now (him and Shoemaker, Borucki, and Thornton). They should still add two arms that are clearly better than anything currently in the fold.
  6. Yeah, Spanberger is nothing. I don't think anyone would be upset about signing Anderson for 1/8.5 with a team option for 2021. Boring, but solid move.
  7. Feels like the Marco Estrada situation all over again. FIP-beating flyball changeup specialist from Milwaukee. 8.5M team option this year, and a 9.5M team option in 2021 with a 500k buyout. I wouldn't give much up for the contract, but it's not a bad addition.
  8. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2020-top-50-free-agents/ FG FA projections are up. Contracts that look good to me, outside of Cole/Rendon/Strasburg: Bats Ozuna (4/64 crowdsourced) Gardner (1/8) Edwin (1/14) Abreu (2/30) SP Wheeler (4/72) Keuchel (4/70) Ryu (3/48) Gibson (2/20) Odorizzi (3/45) Roark (2/20) RP Smith (3/30) Betances (2/18) Martin (2/9)
  9. FTD. Drummond clowned on me in week 1
  10. Also the Yankees. The Rays never really rebuild and would probably have won 85+ games every year for the last 12 years with a 130M payroll. The Dodgers have been over 0.500 like 18 of the last 20 years. Feels like the Cubs and Astros won’t be under 0.500 for a very long time, but we’ll see.
  11. I just added him to your roster.
  12. Reds picked up Galvees’ option
  13. I don’t necessarily think you need vetrin presents to win, I just think veterans have become a reasonable way to add talent. I do think njh is right and it’s wishful thinking on my end that aspects of Washington’s win would be instructive for other teams. I respect the Nats for being willing to throw money at roster holes, and don’t enjoy the current free agent climate. I just like that they had success and a team like Cleveland that had a disgraceful offseason wasted a year of their rapidly-closing window. They could have punted the season like a lot of other teams, because their roster had real holes, but they actually tried to be good and it paid off.
  14. I like that they won as the oldest team in baseball. They went out in the offseason and brought in old guys making a few million instead of giving the spots to league min rookies: Kendrick, Suzuki, Dozier, Sanchez, Asdrubal in July, and obviously they paid big money for Corbin too. They don't win the World Series (or even make the playoffs) if they do what most other teams did and refuse to pay money for veterans that that have a higher floor than a league min AAA guy. Maybe free agency will be a bit more interesting this year. If things continue as they have, we might see more teams win with a high average age, as the teams that pounce on cheap veterans end up picking up significant wins on the back half of their roster.
  15. We don't speak Spanish here.
  16. Buddy Boshers and Brock Stewart outrighted

    NHL Thread

J4L19, your thoughts on Nikita Gusev being one of the worst players in the NHL, getting 12 minutes a night, and now being a healthy scratch on a terrible team?
  18. Jays DFA'd Dull and claimed Anthony Bass on waivers. Bass is out of options, and was actually serviceable this year. Wouldn't be surprising to see him stick through the offseason.
  19. Yeah, EZe has been a great addition to BORED.
  20. Everything happens through Fantrax. You can send/counter trade offers using the website.
  21. Gonna lock this one up now that Carlos Danger is in the fold. League thread is here: https://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/5904-Bringer-of-Rain-Elite-Dynasty-bjmbleagues-com
  22. One of them posted a letter from MLB banning them from all MLB parks for life.
  23. God bless the great people of Washington
