  1. Don’t complain about injuries to the guy who went the entire playoffs with no Mike Trout.
  2. I look forward to taking you out in the playoffs again this season.
  3. You’re a commish Jim
  4. I'm not sure I'm really understanding the opposition to Encarnacion on a 1-year deal at 10-14M. Payroll right now is projected at like 71M. The limiting factor in adding talent this offseason isn't going to be 2020 payroll space, it's going to be a lack of talented players that are willing to sign for terms that the FO is comfortable with. If Edwin is willing to sign, I think you happily take him on a 1-year deal. Who is he even taking plating time from? Rowdy Tellez? Tellez hasn't earned a full-time MLB job, and can still be optioned to AAA. IF he mashes there, he'l find his way back. I also don't care much for the idea of just rotating players through the DH spot. Average DH wRC+ last year was 110. The only hitter on the tam projected to be better than that is Vlad. If you're DHing the likes of Hernandez, Grichuk, McKinney, you're getting below average production. If any of the glut of league average (or worse) hitters we have need a day off, just give them a day off.
  5. That's a paid option. Our current settings are all available via an unpaid league, so I don't think it would be worth it.
  6. It also changes the dynamic of the waiver draft. I don't necessarily think it's a bad change, it it adds value to a typically shallow draft, but it does change things.
  7. Like abom says, the only way to enforce the PA/AP thresholds would be periodic scans - as far as I'm aware there's no functionality for that in fantrax. Transactions aren't restricted if you have a player without a green flag on the farm, so nobody would be forced by the system to promote someone. They'd just be prevented from demoting a promoted prospect who is still in the majors in real life. BTW, I also periodically check farms in BORED and DDL. It takes a a minute or two. Generally we're obsessive enough about baseball to do a quick eye test for guys who are likely approaching the limits.
  8. Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. If a player is on your farm past the thresholds you lose the player. But until they reach the thresholds you can move them back and forth as you please.
  9. What are people’s thoughts on the minor league promotion system we’ve been using? IIRC not allowing back and forth movement to/from the farm was a rule intended to ease administrative burden because it was tracked on a spreadsheet. Is there a reason to keep that rule? I asked BORED owners and didn’t get much feedback.
  10. What’s going on now?
  11. That's entirely reasonable.
  12. Welcome to the BJMB fantasy leagues!
  13. Yeah, that’s the first thing that came to mind for me too. Even if White does become a 2-3 win 1B, guys like that aren’t exactly breaking the bank.
  14. Abom, you're a bad man
  15. Seems unnecessary. They already had him for the QO amount.
  16. WTF Mariners Any time you can give 6/24 to a 1B-only prospect who just put up a 132 wRC+ at AA in his age-23 season you do it and ask questions later.
  17. Damn. I rostered this gas can for several weeks in LoD.
  18. It's crazy to me that nobody offered Seattle anything for Newsome.
  19. Some pretty big contracts given out so far: Martin 2/14 Smith 3/40 Grandal 4/73 Things still moving a bit slow, but its kind of nice that weirdly low FA contracts isn't the story of the offseason so far.
  20. If throwing money at the problem was feasible I would have done it. He's going to be moved back and forth for as long as both of you guys want to own your respective Ohtanis.
  21. I'd also like to add a keepable 1B for a pick or prospect. I could also move a top reliever for a good 1B.
  22. I guess when I squint hard I can see why someone might think McKinney is worth keeping around. I don't share the optimism, but get it. With Pannone, I don't see it at all. He's a soft tosser with shoddy command, and is probably going to be like the 5th best starter in AAA.
  23. I'm not as bothered by McKinney. He has options, and makes the minimum. The team could ostensibly keep him at AAA and use him as depth. They won't, but they could.
