Today is a glorious day. First day of a 5-day weekend, and a full slate of games on the first day of a 162-game schedule. Gonna put huge hours on my couch.

I can't wrap my head around him turning down 10/325 with no deferrals. I don't know if the Mets are having fans in attendance on opening day, but dude deserves to hear some boos.

I don’t know anything about hockey stats, but if they’re indicating that 11 games is sufficient enough evidence to suggest that a career AHL goalie like Wedgwood is a good bet to outperform Andersen going forward, I find that very dubious.

It could be worse. They could be the Flyers. The only goalie they've developed since Ron Hextall is Sergei Bobrovsky, but they traded him away before he broke out. And where the leafs have often managed to acquire good goalies externally (Joseph, Belfour, Andersen) the Flyers have basically been floundering in net for 25 years.

Cohen leaked the terms because he made a ridiculous offer to Lindor, and wants the fans to know that he did everything he reasonably could to get him signed. If Lindor actually turns that down it’s not going to be Cohen catching heat from the fanbase.

Yeah. I didn’t think Lindor would get close to 325. He’s a much lesser player than Betts and deserves significantly less money. His relationship with the fanbase is going to be tarnished before opening day. They’re going to (rightly) feel slighted about his ridiculous demands.

There isn't really an obvious target there. Ullmark - not clear Buffalo is going to move him Rittich - not a clear upgrade Kuemper - injured Raanta - injured Bernier - not a clear upgrade Wedgewood - not a clear upgrade If you're suggesting that the Leafs bring in a 3rd goalie as insurance to prevent Hutchinson from starting in the playoffs, then that makes some sense, but there isn't really anyone out there who seems like a good bet to actually start playoff games unless Andersen and Campbell are still both out in a month. I guess Kuemper if he comes back healthy? But Toronto would have to pay a steep price for him, and it's not clear how effective he'll be if he comes back this season. He'd also likely cost Toronto Campbell in the expansion draft.

10/325 is more than fair. They should tell Lindor to kick rocks if he holds out for more.

Feels surreal that a full 162-game fantasy baseball season is only two days away. Mike's Bikes are a tough week 1 matchup and I'm not relishing playing them twice this season.

Is 1st even a great slot anymore, or are you better off just taking whoever his left from Tatis, Acuna, Betts, Soto, and Trout at 5?

edit: I guess all 5 years are FA years, as the deal runs 2022-2026. Pretty fair IMO.

Luba has settled in on Twitter as someone who tries to push people's buttons and create controversy. I found her a breath of fresh air a few months ago, but she mostly just comes off as petty and annoying lately. In this case, there's nothing wrong with what MLB is doing - they're looking at data to flag people with spikes in spin rate, so that they can investigate further. There's not really anything to criticize.
