  1. Ohtani is wild in LA
  2. Feels surreal that a full 162-game fantasy baseball season is only two days away. Mike's Bikes are a tough week 1 matchup and I'm not relishing playing them twice this season.
  3. I legit had no idea that Dominic teams maintained player rights over the course of multiple seasons.
  4. I do not enjoy TJ Zeuch.
  5. The chat was absurd. Legit 1 inch wide and no way to expand it.

  7. I'm very pleased that I was able to draft Snell with my next pick.
  8. Yup. Entire draft will be done in a couple hours.
  9. Is 1st even a great slot anymore, or are you better off just taking whoever his left from Tatis, Acuna, Betts, Soto, and Trout at 5?
  10. edit: I guess all 5 years are FA years, as the deal runs 2022-2026. Pretty fair IMO.
  11. Luba has settled in on Twitter as someone who tries to push people's buttons and create controversy. I found her a breath of fresh air a few months ago, but she mostly just comes off as petty and annoying lately. In this case, there's nothing wrong with what MLB is doing - they're looking at data to flag people with spikes in spin rate, so that they can investigate further. There's not really anything to criticize.

I don't think it's really a big coincidence. It happens all the time in baseball, and there's no cap: player delays surgery to try rehab, rehab fails, player ends up getting surgery months later and missing more time than they would have if they had opted for the surgery immediately. I think the timing lining up in a way that's favorable to TB is a lot more likely than a) a team actually approaching a top-10 player in the world and asking him to needlessly sit out an entire season in the middle of his prime, and the player actually agreeing to do it. I don't think you become as good as Kucherov if you're cool sitting on your couch in your age-27 season instead of being out there contending for scoring titles and MVP awards.
  13. Finally. I've been wanting this for years.
  14. Every time I read a story about a player tripping on a lego or falling while carrying his kid or whatever I assume its a cover story for hurting themselves doing something reckless, likely while inebriated.
  15. Being a GM must takes years off your life. I can't imagine Ross slept well after the guy he gambled 5.5M on blew up before throwing a regular season pitch. I'd be pissed if that happened in fantasy baseball and there's no national spotlight or corporate overlord wondering where their money went.
  16. Yeah, it wasn't a bad gamble. A healthy Yates could have made a difference of 2-3 wins.
  17. https://theathletic.com/2473127/2021/03/23/rosenthal-kirby-yates-physicals-twice-caused-alarm-this-offseason-sources-say/ Braves backed out of a deal with him because they were concerned about his elbow, and Toronto had an 8.5M deal reduced to 5.5M.

Why would he agree to this?
  19. Seems thread-worthy
  20. That's a big if. I hope pOhtani stays healthy, but I've seen enough to not invest anything in that playing out. I just don't trust the arm at all. If I'm holding him in dynasty and someone offers Martin I accept without thinking twice. That obviously changes in leagues where you hold pOhtani and hOhtani and can't separate them.
  21. Martin easily for me.
  22. Zac Gallen might be broken
  23. Ohtani leading off and goes 2-2 with a walk and an opposite field double off the wall. On the mound he strikes out 5 over 4 great innings sitting 99-101. Days like today remind you how fun it would be if he can put a healthy season together.
  24. Ohtani is pitching and hitting leadoff today. Hasn't happened in a regular season game since 1901. Led off with a clean single against Snell.
