Fear mongering. There will likely be a lockout, but I doubt the season doesn’t start by around May

Dudes using fear mongering on a Baseball forum lol. That’s too much politics for you. That’s the job of the Canadian government.

Felt like the Rays’ offense just disappeared. Yandy/Junior/Arranda pretty much did nothing, Simpson was on fire though.

but credit to the Brewers pitching.

Hats off the Brews man, their fans deserved this the most.

They've clinched their division for the last 4 years in a row while boosting the best record in baseball for the last two seasons.  They stayed hot during the postseason and this time won it all.  That's getting it done.

I just read a story that Judy Uecker (Bob's wife) watched the game last night from the American Family Field.  She sat in Bob's chair, inside the team's home radio broadcast booth that her late ex-husband occupied for 54 years.  Yesterday was her birthday and she celebrated it, while honoring her late husband and watched the Brewers win their 1st World Series.  She married Bob in 1976.

I say it all the time, but how can you not be romantic about baseball?

I still have my Bob Uecker magic 8 ball giveaway from when was able to catch a game in Milwaukee. It told me the Brewers would be winning the WS this year so im not surprised it happened.

No Dodgers threepeat and no rival AL east team won.

Works for me.

Dodgers 3-peat was a terrifying concept. Glad it didn’t happen.

Enjoyed watching the WS this year but man I just can’t bring myself to watch any of the celebration stuff because it just makes me mad/sad again that the Jays fell short.

I've watched so many videos of 75 year old men crying as they get to watch their favourite team win it's first ever World Series, so many father/son videos experiencing this together, so many kids who are having the time of their lives.

That shoulda been us in those god damn videos.  Just brutal.

It will be. One day. When we’re 75 probably

Yeah, everyone keeps acting like there wont be baseball next year. If that happens then nobody makes money. Not gonna happen.

It's definitely in everyone's interest to get back to playing as soon as possible.  The only way the entire season gets locked out is if the owners decide to force the Union's hands by not giving up their hard cap but that's too dividing amongst themselves.  No way 23 teams are going to agree to a hard cap let alone a cancelled season to get it.

You know I don’t want that right? I am not actively cheering for a lockout. I miss Baseball right now. I am going to hate it even more in February when Spring Training doesn’t start on time. And even more when we’re approaching April and no games are being played.

Obviously nobody wants to lose money but it’s quite clear they want a salary cap and are willing to lock out the players and not have a Season until they have a new structure in place.

I don't care about a salary cap, I want a minimum spend to force the cheap ass teams from just profiting from the shared revenue and not giving a s***.  The Marlins fund their entire payroll from the shared funds and pocket their own generated revenue ($300M/yr) with no accountability.  It's horseshit.  Fans deserve a better product than what some of these owners give them.  If takes a lockout to fix that than do it.

That’s just smart business-running tactics though

I mean it's not against the rules but it's very unethical.  The purpose of the profit sharing is to add to their bottom line so they can compete.  When you make $300M you don't even need the profit sharing to begin with but that's a different story. They simply need a rule to enforce a minimum to avoid these shenanigans.
