We should be shutting Miles down.  The 1 in 20 chance didn't happen (shocker).  Throw in the towel and give Chad Dallas the start.

There's no way Yesavage starts tomorrow right?  RIGHT?

Anyone worried the new MLB structure will probably require us to cut payroll making it harder for us to improve whenever we play next?

There's no way the PA would accept that proposal unless it's grandfathered in.

I don't understand why they don't go Sphaghetti first.  If Spaghetti gave 3 good innings, then go Miles, if not save Miles for tomorrow since they have to do this twice anyway.

I mean none of it matters anymore anyway like you say, and why not just give Miles a hand shake, and get him ready for next year.  The Soriano/Ponce/Miles/Yesivage and an acquisition could be interesting as long as they don't push too much (I assume Cease is probably done with a messed up shoulder).

I mean what would LA and Toronto do?  I guess Toronto just wouldn't be able to spend more to make up for Dead weight of Berrios, Cease, Vlad, Santander ... so we'd just have to field a all prospect team

What would LA do ?  Trade half their team.

So it gets grand-fathered in but how?  Can't have LA allowed to keep everyone with a grand father rule, so just have to lower payroll a bit every year for 5 years?  No way any of this is going to work.

The day after the season ends Popkins gets fired

Jays may be last in runs for first time since 1981.  Even 95-97 wasn't this bad.

alot of blame to go around, start with who made the decision to hire Pop?

Of course but that would still mean our payroll would need to trend downwards.

Yeah, but it also means the front office won't have to overspend in order to compete with other teams for free agents.

Agreed but its hard to pretend like we're some small market team with a top 5 payroll.  Its pretty much 1 team that makes other teams feel that way lol.

Clown Jays

Post of the Year right here folks. Has everything a classic post needs to be remembered for ages.

Deep insight. Hilarious and uniquely complex juxtaposition of changing "Blue" to "Clown".

Just all around stellar prose.

and of all the clown situations throughout the season, not quite sure what part of today’s game deserves that title (yet)

Thanks dude. I agree. Every post on random online message boards must necessarily be extremely insightful.

Certainly looks like they're transitioning Miles role to be a multi-inning guy every 4th day to maybe make the transition to starter easier for next season.

last 5 appearances including today have been Sep 3, 8, 12, 16, 20

Actually, that seems to have been the plan going back further but since the start of August they've also been using him in high leverage games and series when needed outside of that plan
