It's annoyance, not arrogance. I see it often where people talk about starters being 3/4 guys when they're actually Top 40 in all of baseball. 3 WAR starters are hard to come by.

I like this trade. IMO it's probably an underpay by us. It sucks to lose Nimmala, but this helps fill a major hole in our starting staff for next year (if next year happens) that was going to be hard to fill via free agency. An equivalent pitcher probably gets 5/125 on the open market.

This is a good trade, sold high on Nimmala who I really thought would be exposed (a little more) once he hit AA; who knows this could be a steal.

We'll see what happens the rest of the day, but if the Jays damn bats can get going (especially Vlad) this team could still go on a crazy run. Added Soriano, Bieber had a few starts where he looked like he was back, Scherzer might be healthy and just had a solid 6 IP start, Miles now in the pen to go with the three headed monster (Hoff, Varland, Rogers). Little even looked decent in his last three appearances. Just a little bit of a hot streak from the offense and they might go on a tear here.

Think so? I can't see it. He's basically been the Jays 4th or 5th best pitcher all season. If he doesn't start in the rotation he's probably the long man out of the pen.

Long man at most 

They aren’t going to start with Spencer Miles in the #5 spot. They earned the right to option him after keeping him in the bigs all year. They’ll certainly be taking advantage of that

I think Miles has shown himself to be far too capable of retiring major league hitters to start the season as a depth piece.

Yeah, they'll have guys like Miles, Bloss, Arighetti etc... fighting for the long man, 6th/7th options in ST. Jays will get another arm In FA.
