As I've been asking since last season: Why is Little on this team?

This guy doesn't stink any less now than he did before.

Ask Ross

Valenzuela is a mediocre minor league hitter in 8 seasons, 550 games.  Even 100 major league games of good performance wouldn't indicate he'll be that good moving forward.     It would be a risk counting on him to do this consistently as a full time player.

Great backup.  When Springer is gone maybe Kirk transitions to DH more.  Be interesting to see a system where Kirk plays 60 games at catcher 90 at DH, and BV 100 at catcher.

They didn't really commit to this with Kirk/Jansen though (signed Brandon Belt and Juston Turner to DH).

Catchers normally take much longer to develop their offence. BVs game looks like it should hold in the MLB but let's give it a whole season. Kirk DHing more when Springer is gone makes sense but we'll have to carry a third catcher.

Why pull Little in this blow out game. Leave him in and let him walk 10.

What made anyone in the Jays organization think it was a good idea to bring back Little? In certainly wasn't his AAA numbers where he continued to not throw strikes.

Who is our position player pitcher now that Heineman is gone

Used to be Ernie before he became an everyday player. Maybe Straw now.

Schneider likes Little. Case closed

Remember when media used to take organizations to task, even getting into heated confrontations with managers in order to get answers?

That was a long long time ago. Now everybody owns everybody and everyone sucks everyone's dick.

Why is everyone losing their damn minds?

Yeah, calling up Little and demoting a long man sure was a bad time for Kevin Gausman to completely crap the bed, but is it really THAT big of a deal??

We got through the game while using mostly the B-team relievers (Hoff, Varland and Flu all got rest) and we can just option Little for Macko to get a fresh arm for tomorrow. It's not like Little lost us the game. In fact, he confirmed he still has the yips and it was a good time for us to find that out.

But all that aside, it's frigging baseball, these games happen. Back at it tomorrow.

There will be quite a bit of pain on the road to being the first losing team to win the World Series.

Like Terminator says watch some soccer then watch the As vs the Angels and the games of the other mediocre teams like your life depends on it, as it does.  They all have to lose if playing a good (Yankees), bad (Angles) or NL team.   If playing each other they have to split their series.  No sweeps.

The road ahead is tough and the mentally weak won't be able to handle it.  Sucks that Mike Trout is on the DL.  We need him tonight against the As.

That's the great thing about baseball. It's one game of 162 games and there is a game tomorrow again where the Jays could forget about the game on Friday.

It's not like the NFL or NBA/NHL where a team has to wait and digest their ugly loss over a week or 2-3 days. Baseball you can easily forget a game like this.

Rather see brandon little in a game like this  than a competitive one.

Yeah agreed. The game was already long gone, so no harm using him in a blowout, but it would have been nice to see Little string together a strong inning out of the pen which maybe would have brought some encouragement moving forward.

The 2023 Diamondbacks almost did it!

-15 run differential and they won the NL Pennant, sweeping the Dodgers along the way.
